Latest NextGen Gaming (SG Digital) Slots List

NextGen is an Australian developer of games for the casino industry, which has been active since 1999 and offering their catalogue to operators both from the land based and the online markets. They have their HQ in London right now, while offices of theirs are present in Stockholm and in Sydney. Since they sometimes license games to different owners of casino software, their content might be accessible to you at casinos that use other platforms. Their focus is more on the Business to Business side of the market, not as much on the player, so that’s why you might get to play a slot of theirs and not even know it.

NextGen is a decent contender in today’s market, offering content that can be played on mobile phones, on the usual desktop PC and even on social networks (their Facebook platform launched in 2012). These days, NextGen is a developer arm for a big gaming group, called NYX Interactive.

History

The story of NextGen started off in 1999, at a time when the online gambling industry was still in its infancy. It was a good time to start creating games for it, and NextGen did just that. It was an Australian based company, which chose to focus on the casinos and software platforms, rather than on the players that used them. The B2B approach meant that the games from NextGen were offered to other software platforms, as a way to boost their numbers. A slot machine from this developer would be offered at Aristocrat, Bally or Amaya powered casino, and none would mention NextGen’s name, claiming the titles as their own.

In 2011, NextGen was acquired by NYX Interactive and these days it is one of the group’s brands. NYX brought in online casino, lottery and bingo modules, while NexGen provided the expertise in the creation of mobile, social, land based and online gaming content. The NextGen brand still exists today, as part of NYX, and it continues to put out new slot machines on a regular basis.

NextGen Casino Games

These days, the main focus of NextGen is on releasing new high quality slot machines, though they’ve created other casino games as well in the past. The typical game of roulette, blackjack, video poker and many others have all been part of their offer. The slot games currently number over 100 titles, and I’ve found many of them that are quite enjoyable. Some of the featured games in their collection would be slots like Wild Play, Prosperity Twin, Golden Mane or Shangri La, and I’m mentioning only a couple of the many high quality slots they created so far.

There were certain slot machines in their history, which were especially popular among players, but those have not always held up well to the test of time. These slots are older, but if you play them you can still see why people loved them. They’re slots like 300 Shields, Medusa and Doctor Love. Medusa II was actually released recently, so there is a modern version of that particular slot for those that want to try it out.

Branded slot machines are offered here, titles like Batman, An Evening With Holly Madison, James Dean or Judge Dredd. Those tend to be particularly well done, but they’re not the only ones.

Graphics

For the graphics, NextGen will have a level of quality in their slots that can vary. Their collection does go back quite a bit in time, so sometimes you might get a title like Joker Jester, which is clearly dated right now, even though it’s still funny and you can see that it was great when it was launched. On the other hand, you have modern graphics as well in their recent slots. Jack’s Beanstalk has a much better design than the older games, just as slots like Justice League and Batman show you what NextGen can do when it has a big brand that it needs to turn into a game.

Features

This is another strength that I see in their slot machines, perhaps even more so than the graphics. They’re usually not going to use just the basic features. There is always something extra offered besides the typical scatter, wild and free spins. Whether it’s a bonus game, a random feature, multipliers or some other interesting ability, the action will be entertaining.

Payouts

The prizes you can hope to get will be at different values, from one slot to the next, and the range is big enough that I can’t really say that I have expectations from their new releases. I’ve seen slots like Hot Roller, where the payout went up to 10,000x, and where there was also a chance of up to 6x multipliers during free spins. I’ve also seen games like Joker Jester, where the jackpot was only at 500x, but which offered multiple bonus games and random features to improve the game’s potential. There is something for everyone at NextGen.
