Xing Guardian is a fantasy themed slot machine, but the source of inspiration seems to come from China in its case, rather than from just any regular such story. NextGen Gaming has done a great job with the design of Xing Guardian, and the night sky is especially beautifully represented and a constant companion for the player.
You get plenty of opportunities to land a decent prize, as the game offers 1024 ways to win on its 5x4 reels. The number of potential combinations has an effect on the individual value of their rewards, and at most you can get paid $1,250 in this slot. Looking at the features which are available, you will discover a stacked wild symbol, a scatter, free games with locked reels, the Xing Guardian Locked Reels and the Rise of the Dragon bonus.
Betting and Prizes
The wagers that you’re going to be allowed to place will start from a minimum of $0.50, where each of the 50 virtual bet lines are getting $0.01. The game uses ways to win, but prefers these lines when the wagers are being placed. On the other end of the betting range, you have an amount of $125, in which case the lines receive $2.50 each one.
A good reward in Xing Guardian will have a value of $1,250, this being the jackpot that the slot offers, at a multiple of 500x. There are some very good features inside though, and I expect for them to increase your profitability significantly, as shown in the 97.01% average RTP of the slot.
Xing Guardian Slot Features
The stacked wild symbols are among the easiest to recognize in the game, since they are going to show you images with a beautiful young woman. These are also stacked symbols, so they can do a lot of good when they land on those tall reels. Wilds may act as the usual replacements for many of the regular symbols, helping them form combinations just by being on the right reel at the right time. They don’t do much for the scatters though, and their individual rewards are not very impressive at 100x.
The scatter pays a lot better, up to 500x if you have enough visible on the reels. The Yin Yang logo is the one representing this feature on the reels. The cash rewards are accompanied by free spins, 10 of them and featuring locked reels that will spin together each round. Between 2 and 5 reels are going to do this each spin, showing the same symbols in their adjacent positions. These free spins, if triggered, tend to be very profitable. When retriggering the free spins, you only get 5 additional rounds.
Rise of the Dragon is one of the features that you can get in the base game. Triggered at random times, it will have the Dragon show up and reveal a stack of wild symbols on at least one reel.
The other random feature is Xing Guardian Locked Reels. It offers you the same feature that you get during all rounds of the free spins. 2 to 5 reels are locked together and will spin to give you identical symbols in adjacent positions.
Theme & Design
As a game that is inspired by the fantasy genre and by the legends of China, it does a very good job graphics wise. You have a gorgeous night sky in the background, while the reels are getting images of a girl, of Yin Yang, dragons, Phoenix birds, tigers, turtles, rings and lotus flowers. The game has four card suits as well, but they’re nicely designed.
Xing Guardian looks like a more interesting game than most that get a Chinese theme, and every side of it seems to contribute to this conclusion.
