A release which is available at NextGen Gaming casinos, Aztec Diamonds is a collaboration between this developer and Games Lab. Naturally, the Aztec theme is the one that you’d expect given the title, and the slot has a few other surprises up its sleeve to make it worth checking out.
Those playing Aztec Diamonds will have access to four different jackpots, all fixed and worth up to 250x the stake. The game’s best rounds will pay as much as 500x the stake though, or $45,000. You’re going to get a slot with 30 lines over 5 reels. Moving on to its list of features, it will have the wild in there, along with the free spins and expanding reels.
Betting and Prizes
As the game delivers 30 active lines during each of its spins, the wagers that you’re placing need to take that into consideration. There will be 30 coins used in each wager, and their value is the only one changed. The denomination is as high as $3, or as low as $0.01. This allows for the betting range to go from $0.30 to $90.
One possible way to get paid, and the one with the highest potential, comes from the game’s regular spins. Filling the reels with regular Bird symbols will reward you with as much as 500x the stake, or up to $45,000 cash.
The next best thing is to get one of the fixed jackpots, the highest one of the four offering 250x the stake ($22,500). If you don’t get the Grand Jackpot, then you might get one of the other three, including Major (100x stake), Minor (30x stake) and Mini (10x the stake).
Aztec Diamonds Slot Features
One of the simpler features involved will take the form of the Idol, which is going to be used as the wild. You get it to appear on the last four reels, and while there it can be a replacement for a regular, but not for a scatter. Naturally, there are no rewards given, since the symbol can’t form its own combinations.
Scattered Jackpot Diamonds may appear in view, and the game requires that you get at least six to show up before you can trigger its 3 re-spins. The diamonds will become sticky for this feature. Once the re-spins are over, you will receive a jackpot or a regular cash prize for each diamond you have on the reels.
One more special feature is available, called Jackpot Diamond Expanding Reels. To trigger it, you need four diamonds appearing in the corners of the game area. It will make the game area expand, and this can happen several times as you go through the 3 re-spins which follow. At most, you can have a grid set to 8x4 positions. The diamonds from the corners are the ones which can deliver the big jackpots, meaning the Grand and Major.
Theme & Design
Aztec Diamonds doesn’t get the most exciting theme around, or at least I don’t find it all that interesting. It’s going to feature images of Idols, of Birds and other Aztec signs which represent animals. The Royals from 9 to A will be the last ones you get, for the smaller value positions.
I think that Aztec Diamonds will appeal to some players, particularly thanks to some of its features. The 500x the stake maximum reward might make some give it a pass though.
