Theatre of Night Slot Machine

NextGen Gaming has an interesting idea with Theatre of Night, a slot machine where they used the night and its wild creatures, trying to help us see their beauty. They succeed for the most part, and I think that you will enjoy the show that is being played in front of you.

There are just 10 active lines for the spins that you trigger on the 5 available reels. The game seems capable of paying up to $7,500 at most. When it comes to the available features, those rely on the different types of wilds and on Firefly Re-Spins.

Betting and Prizes

There is a big difference, between the number of active lines and the number of coins which is selected for them each round. You are using 10 lines, but you are required to have 25 coins in the bet. The value that is under your control is the denomination of those coins, with a starting point at $0.01 and a maximum value of $10. The betting range that results from this will go from $0.25 to $250.

When you look at the game’s biggest wins, you will find that the wild symbol is the one paying the most. Up to 750 coins are offered by the wild, with their highest total value being up to $7,500.

Theatre of Night Slot Features

The game’s features seem a bit too simple at first. They rely on just two types, the wilds and the re-spins, but apparently they’re good enough to give the slot a good average RTP.

First, let’s check out the Wild, which is showing us its logo, surrounded by flower and gold decorations. Wild symbols are only used on the middle three columns when you’re in the base game. There, these symbols are usable as substitutes only, but for any of the other seven regular symbols that the game uses.

Should you have three wilds on the reels during a single round, the game will offer you 6 free re-spins. This feature is called Firefly Re-spins. During the re-spins, the 3rd reel will be turned into a stacked wild. At the same time, certain selected symbols are going to be turned into wilds as well, and this will allow this feature to appear on the other reels, not just on the middle three. At this point, the wild symbols are going to become capable of forming combinations and paying for up to five symbols arranged on the same line. The game’s jackpot of 750 coins is offered this way. As for the Firefly Re-Spins, they can’t be retriggered during the initial feature. Once you’re done with them, they can be activated again though.

The game’s features can be profitable for it, but I suspect that its biggest strength lies in its use of just 8 symbols (wild included), which allows it to form combinations more often. Other slots will rely on 12-13 different symbols, so it’s going to be harder for them to line-up on the same payline.

Theme & Design

The beauty of the night appears to be the central motif of this slot machine, and so you’re being shown a magical forest during this period of time. You have that forest in the background, while for the reels the developer has reserved symbols wit images of birds, flowers and butterflies. The rest are logos and the four card suits.

Conclusion

I found the design to be a plus for the game, even though the majority of the symbols are unrelated. The features are unique, but the offer seems a bit thin there. Overall though, the game seems to pay well enough, the average RTP being at the right size.
