NYX’s Jewel of the Jungle is a slot machine where the player will find a jungle-themed set of symbols, with wild creatures and plants occupying most of their positions on the reels. The only stacked regular symbol of the game, the Jaguar, is responsible for the biggest paying combination as well. Have a full combo formed, and a 1,000x reward could be yours, with the value getting up to $5,000. Naturally, with stacked symbols chances are that you’re going to have multiple active lines formed that round, so the rewards could add up quickly. The game’s RTP is the one that you expect to see from most decent paying slots these days, being announced at 96.06%.
The feature list is the one that I’m most surprised about, and not necessarily in a good way. You might be getting a couple of decent features, but overall the list feels light to me, with nothing unique or exciting to be found on it.
The wild symbol is the one that stands out a bit since it’s coming in stacked and it is capable of occupying the entire reel that it is on. The last four reels are the ones that are allowed to get this particular symbol. Wild symbols are only used as substitutes and only in combination with the regular symbols, so the scatter is excluded. Its image is that of a Diamond.
The Waterfall symbol is not just pretty to look at, it’s also a scatter that may appear on any of the five reels. Have 3+ Waterfalls land on the reels and the game will reward you with prizes of 2x to 12x total stake, plus 10 to 20 free spins. I didn’t enjoy the fact that scatters need to appear left to right, on consecutive reels, so they’re limited in their abilities. On the other hand, I appreciated the additional wilds that the reels get for the free spins. You can only retrigger the feature once, with 5 extra rounds added to the total.
The jungle’s creatures and plant life serve as inspiration for the game, and so that’s what you’re going to see on the reels for the most part. You get the image of the jungle for the background, while the reels have diamonds, waterfalls, jaguars, two types of parrots, the Toucan, jungle frogs, monkeys, snakes, lizards, butterflies, flowers, and ferns. I found the graphics to be among the most enjoyable things about the game.
Jewel of the Jungle is the perfect average free slot, offering the player a relatively common theme, perfectly acceptable graphics, and the standard features that most games will have right now.
