One of the biggest series of slots released by Playtech, Age of the Gods, has one more title to add to the list, and it’s called Rulers of Olympus. It’s one of their more general themed games, while keeping the Greek mythology theme, since some of the others have been dedicated to specific deities. You see several major gods on its reels, some excellent features that you can enjoy, as well as the usual progressive jackpots which are offered in all slots of the series.

A slot machine that’s available via Playtech, Scatter Brains 2 is naturally zombie-themed, we can easily guess that from the title alone. The spread of features could be enough to get some players to pay attention, even if it wasn’t a slot with big payouts and an interesting theme.

Not only is this a car racing themed slot machine, but it’s also a title with huge rewards from Playtech, the type of game that will be exciting to play thanks to the potential payouts which may come your way. Belonging to a major series from Playtech, called Age of the Gods, Mighty Midas has been inspired by a famous king from Ancient Greece’s legends. Selfie Elfie

One of the games which I’d expect to be popular for the 2018 winter holidays is Selfie Elfie, the contender coming from Playtech. It’s going to be an online slot which will use fairly traditional graphics, though there are modern sides to it as well.

Luminous Life
  • Release: Dec 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: ---
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 243
  • Mobile: Yes

Taking us to the depths of the ocean, Luminous Life is quite unusual thanks to its focus on luminescent creatures that exist there. It’s what you’re going to see on the reels for the most part, and as most ocean themed games tend to, it also has a gorgeous design. It’s also a Playtech slot machine, so it’s clear that it has some strong backing.

With the action taking place in China, the theme selected here is inspired by a legendary creature from the country’s legends, a Phoenix like bird. Playtech is the one that’s offering this game and they chose a unique layout for it, along with interesting features which could make it all worthwhile.

The Great Reveal is a magic themed game, which has some awesome graphics and features that are actually inspired by magic acts. It’s coming via Playtech, and it’s among the top games that I’ve seen this developer release, in terms of graphics quality at least. Panther Pays
  • Release: Oct 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: ---
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 50

Jungle themed games are quite popular among players, and there is something about predators that we seem to enjoy in general, as we find them cool. The panther is one of those dangerous predators of the jungle, and it’s been used as inspiration several times in the past. Playtech is the developer behind Panther Pays, a game with simple graphics and a focus on this panther, which they’ve also used in the past in Panther Moon and Prowling Panther.

AquaMan
  • Release: Nov 2018

The DC Comics universe has been fertile ground for Playtech, the developer creating a large number of slot machines already which are based in it. The AquaMan release is just the latest one, and it’s going to be fun for anyone that enjoys this type of game.

  • Reels: 6
  • Lines: 50
  • Mobile: Yes

Playtech has just released a new jungle-themed slot machine, not their first and probably not their last. Its name is Anaconda Wild, and it’s the type of game that will show off the dangers of the Amazon jungle, while at the same time it will praise the treasures which are hidden there, left behind by a Mayan civilization which isn’t around these days.

Yutu
  • Release: Oct 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: ---
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 50
  • Mobile: Yes

Yutu is definitely not a typical slot machine, at least if you check out its theme which I’ve never seen in another game so far. Playtech dug deep into Chinese folklore, to find a story about a rabbit which has his home on the Moon. Yutu is the slot machine which came out of it, and it’s fairly interesting.

Ride The Tiger
  • Release: Oct 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: 94.13%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 50
  • Mobile: Yes

The action in Ride The Tiger is based on a jungle-related theme, but with an Asian style to it, rather than the South American or African based slot machines that we usually get. The creator of this game, which seems to have its target market in Asia, is Playtech.

Pumpkin Bonanza
  • Release: Oct 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: 95.51%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 10
  • Mobile: Yes

If Halloween is coming, you can count on developers launching new slot machines for this holiday. Playtech didn’t miss the chance this year, and they came up with Pumpkin Bonanza, a classic slot which focuses on the scary Jack-O-Lantern for the main character and on a graveyard style background.

Buckle Up
  • Release: Oct 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: ---
  • Reels: 3
  • Lines: 26
  • Mobile: Yes

Playtech has done very well in Buckle Up, a game where they’ve decided to go for a racing theme which looks like it’s been inspired at least a little bit by the Mario arcade game character. It’s a classic game with lots of bells and whistles attached, meaning that it has features which will improve the gameplay.

Age of the Gods: Lord of Lightning
  • Release: Sept 2018

  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 20
  • Mobile: Yes

The very popular and heavily promoted Age of the Gods series from Playtech has received a new addition to the line-up. This time, it’s Lord of Lightning, a game which appears to be dedicated to Zeus himself, as he’s the god of thunder and of the sky.

Baam Boom
  • Release: Sept 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: ---
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 25
  • Mobile: Yes

There are some themes that never seem to get old, and the pirate life always seems to be fun to experience, even if it’s only in slot machine form. Baam Boom is just that sort of slot machine, pirate-themed and also coming via Playtech, a developer with enough experience under its belt that it has no problem offering a fun game.

Suicide Squad
  • Release: Nov 2018
  • Soft: Playtech
  • RTP: 96.53%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 50
  • Mobile: Yes

A huge release in 2016, Suicide Squad got the attention of movie goers and eventually it was turned into a slot machine as well. Playtech has obtained the rights to this movie, which is not much of a surprise since they have the DC Super Heroes games already, including the usual progressive jackpots which are paid in all of them.

Playtech is one of the giants that are active in the online gaming industry, offering hundreds of casino games, including over 180 slots, to their 140 global licensees, in 20 different regulated jurisdictions. They have offices in 17 different countries and they have over 5,000 employees. As you can tell yourself, this is no small company, and obviously they have been around the block for a while now.

Playtech was founded back in 1999, and they originate from Tartu, in Estonia. The founders of the company already had a history with the casino industry, but some of them had backgrounds in the multimedia or software engineering spaces.

The products which are part of their portfolio give casinos more than 600 titles, plus the option to also include modules for virtual sports, sports betting, poker, live dealer content and lottery. The land-based category isn’t neglected either, and they have a number of solutions for those clients as well.

History

As I mentioned previously, the story of Playtech began in 1999. It took them a couple of years to build up their content and to get the first casino licensees, but the first one came around in 2001. Fast forward a couple of years, to 2004, and that’s when Playtech created their first iPoker network, the largest one of its kind. On March 28th, 2006, Playtech started being traded at the London Stock Exchange, in the AIM market. They expanded that same year, by acquiring a provider of poker software, called Tribeca Tables Europe, which used to work with partners like Paddy Power Poker or VCPoker.

Bingo Broadway was also released in 2006, after which they acquired Videobet, which gave them access to server and land based gaming terminals. Because they were growing rapidly, they created Playtech Academy in their home country, Estonia, plus they opened up a Bulgarian development centre.

With the start of 2007, the company got a new CEO, by the name of Mor Weizer. In the coming years, Playtech continued to expand and to sign new agreements, with land based or online operators. They created a landmark joint venture together with William Hill in 2008. Looking back at their history, it was one of continuous expansion, through agreements, acquisitions and new releases, which explains how they became one of the giants of the casino industry.

Playtech Casino Games

There are hundreds of slot machines that are offered by Playtech, but they have a number of casino titles as well. They offer live dealer games, they have bingo, lottery and table games, to name just a few major categories that they dabble in. I’d say that the slot machines are by far the best represented ones though.

The type of game that you will see at Playtech will be considered modern by most players, and not just because they usually have 5 reels. There are other aspects of the games that lead to this conclusion, and obviously the features would be among those making the slots interesting.

One of the recipes for success that Playtech has followed for most of its history is to have a lot of branded content, so that players can actually relate to the action that takes place inside their games. They have signed agreements with some of the biggest brands around, and so they created slot machines based on The Matrix, The Love Boat, The Mummy, The Flintstones, Daredevil, Captain America, Spiderman, The Dark Knight and dozens of other hugely popular TV series or movies.

Graphics

When you’re working with a large number of games, and you release new ones all the time, you’re bound to have some better than others. The older games in their portfolio don’t have the best graphics, but newer ones do look modern at least. The design quality was never a strong point for Playtech, not even for most of the branded slot machines, which required a bigger investment on their part. Luckily, they’re not ugly games, just more on the average side.

Features

The list of features is among my favorite things about the majority of the Playtech slot machines. These deliver free spins, bonus symbols, scatters wilds and others. You might get a simpler experience from a slot like What’s Cooking, or something very elaborate from The Three Musketeers (bonus games, four types of scatters, multiple smaller features, wilds and free spins).

Payouts

Just how happy you will be with the payouts offered by a slot will depend on a couple of things, such as the other features which can trigger inside. I’ve seen slots of theirs that can pay 10,000x the line bet, and I’ve also noticed others that only go up to 250x. The difference usually comes from the number of features offered, and one isn’t necessarily a better choice than the other based on the top prize alone.

The progressive jackpots are offered in more than a few games that they released over the years. Beach Life and many of the branded slot machines have such prizes to offer, and their value can be very high.
