There are some games where you see innovations left and right, from features to the theme and even the layout or the graphics. Thunderspin Jackpots is not one of those games. This NextGen Gaming production is sporting a modern layout, but a classic fruit theme, making up for that boring choice with its progressive jackpots and some decent features.
Expect to play the game with its 25 lines on 5 reels. You will gain access to progressive jackpots, to fixed rewards of up to $12,500 cash, but also to wild symbols, big multipliers and bonus games. All in all, not a bad start, especially since there is a 96.56% RTP in place as well.
Betting and Prizes
Setting up the bet for Thunderspin Jackpots is not rocket science. Since the lines will be fixed, what’s left is to choose the amount that goes into each one. The least that you can spend per line is $0.01, while at the other end you get a maximum bet of $2. Multiply the chosen line bet with 25, and you have a total bet of $0.25 to $50.
The progressive jackpots are your targets, but secondary to them there are also rewards of up to 250x total bet, so of up to $12,500 cash. Moving on to the long-term RTP, that figure is set to 96.56%, which is pretty good.
Winning the progressive jackpots is not possible through the slot’s symbols. It’s a random thing, and it happens at the start of a paid spin. The best one starts from $50,000 and goes up from there.
Thunderspin Jackpots Slot Features
When you’re looking at a list of features that could go into a slot machine, chances are that you’d pick the wild symbol to be among those that you’d want. Luckily, the developer has felt the same, and the wild symbol was included in Thunderspin Jackpots. It’s a version of the feature which might not look great (it’s just the image of the Wild logo), but which works out pretty well since it has its own multiplier, of 2x. Wilds work with each other, adding up their multipliers, so you get up to 6x the original combinations thanks to them.
The big reward of the slot appears to be coming via the Bonus Wheel symbol, which predictably enough is going to be your way into a special feature. It’s called Thunder Wheel and it triggers with 3+ Bonus symbols. The rewards of up to 250x total bet which are announced for it will make the feature a very attractive possibility. The chance of hitting Respins is also there.
Another feature that you might get is called Lightning Spin. It involves 3 spins that you get for free and each one has a chance of triggering additional free spins for you.
Theme & Design
There are some elements in the game that will remind you of thunderbolts, but most of the time what you will see is classic symbols everywhere. Two logos were selected for the main features, the Bonus Wheel and the Wild x2, but other than that you get the very predictable red 7s, orange 7s, blue 7s, cherries, gold bells and three types of stacked Bars. It’s not a bad quality design, just a poorly chosen theme.
Thunderspin Jackpots doesn’t deliver high-end graphics or an interesting theme, but it does reasonably well feature wise.
