Viking Towers is a new Merkur slot machine, that’s been designed together with Edict, their online development arm. With cute cartoon-style graphics, and a Viking theme that’s been popular among players for many years now, the game has a good start and it could very well be a fan favourite once they’re done with it.

As you’re forming winning combinations on the slot’s 5 lines, you are going to activate positions in the three towers shown on the left side of the screen. Which tower is improved, will depend on the win that you formed and the symbols which were a part of it.
Your aim is to get to the top of a tower so that you can get its prize for each new step you get to. You have a Cashpot where you collect these winnings, and you can claim them at any time, though this will reset the tower level. You can also claim only some of those winnings, and that will reduce the tower’s level.
Only one other major feature is present, the Wheel of Destiny. It requires the Viking Girl symbol on the 3x3 reels, a giant symbol that covers them completely. You also need to have something in the Cashpot, to trigger this feature.
The spin of this Wheel can bring you the rewards from one of the three towers, the cashpot, or the cashpot multiplied by 2x. It’s also possible that you will get nothing.
It’s a Viking-themed slot machine, which is not at all unusual right now. Still, the graphics are very good, the characters drawn in a cartoon style that I enjoyed, and it’s a good game overall if you care about looks. The background shows us the shores of the Viking lands, with longboats nearby.
On the reels, there is an interesting mix of related symbols, showing emerald rings, anchors, helmets, jugs of blood, drinking horns, and an axe set in gold.
Overall, I found Viking Towers to be a decent game, and definitely not a standard slot machine. Its limited setup and the reliance on those Towers to bring you prizes, make it a lot more interesting than you’d expect from a 3-reel game.
