Trickstar Spins looks like one of the more interesting classic slots I’ve seen lately, using the expected 3 reels but turning the usual Joker into something more. It has more of a haunted feel to it, and it’s one of those accessible slots with medium volatility that allows even beginners to have some fun.
You have 3x3 reels that are ready to spin for you in Trickstar Spins, while its combinations can form via 5 paylines. The 800x top jackpot might not sound like much, but it’s acceptable for the top prize of a medium volatility slot machine. Its main features include multipliers, a bonus game, respins, and wilds.
You have access to this game as long as you’re ready to place a bet inside. The range of the available bets is between $0.10 and $100.
Trickstar Spins can pay as much as 800x the stake. It’s not too bad, though other medium volatility slot machines manage to do even better. The RTP may be to blame, as I’ve seen mentions of its value going only up to 94%.
You wouldn’t expect it from a slot machine that has that classic 3-reel setup, but Trickstar Spins has plenty of special features to offer.
The list starts with the Full-Reels Multiplier, a modifier that I haven’t really seen modern slots use. Whenever you get a reel covered by matching symbols, the game applies a multiplier to the round. It’s randomly picked through a wheel spin, and the value can be 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x.
During non-winning rounds, and provided that you get two reels covered by matching symbols, you will find that the Second Chance Respins will trigger. The feature keeps the two matching reels sticky, while the third one respins three times. You can get additional symbols of that type through respins, and they become sticky as well, while the number of respins resets back to 3.
Whenever Jackpot Card symbols land, you get to collect them, and this can randomly award you access to the Jackpot Bonus Game. Once inside, you draw cards and find three of the same type to claim the fixed jackpot associated with it.
Finally, you also get a bit of help from the slot’s wild symbols. These are great substitutes, but they also pay the most out of all combinations (16x the stake vs 5x for a regular combo).
It’s a haunted theme, with the action taking us in the middle of a cemetery, with ghosts sitting to the side and headstones visible on the other side. The three reels are in the middle, and they feature mostly classic-style symbols, such as cherries, bells, or crowns, but many of them turned into characters.
Trickstar Spins is a very good slot game for the most part, with graphics and features both contributing to this. What I didn’t like as much is the RTP, which only goes up to 94%.
