Gem Rocks
  • Release: Feb 2018
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.3%
  • Reels: 6
  • Lines: 4096
  • Mobile: Yes

Gem Rocks is a slot machine that’s offered by Yggdrasil Gaming and which is getting a gemstone theme, but one that seems more attractive than the typical look that slots use for it. It’s one of the few modern looking gemstone slots that I’ve seen, and the layout of 6 reels would be classified the same way.

Reptoids
Reptoids
  • Release: Nov 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.8%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 20

Reptoids is a slot machine with an interesting idea, apparently revolving around an alien invasion which sees humans replaced with aliens. The game is a new release, coming from Yggdrasil Gaming, a developer with a lot of experience in designing exciting slots.

Pumpkin Smash
Pumpkin Smash
  • Release: Oct 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.2%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 20
  • Mobile: Yes

Pumpkin Smash is a slot machine that Yggdrasil Gaming released in 2017, just in time for the year’s Halloween holiday. The pumpkin doesn’t have as big of a presence in this game as the title might suggest. Instead, the focus appears to be mostly on Mexican style day of the dead characters, with skulls being used in more than a couple of symbols.

Jungle Books
Jungle Books
  • Release: Sep 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.1%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 58
  • Mobile: Yes

Jungle Books is the game that you’d expect to get, based on the title alone. Made famous by Disney for children around the world, Jungle Book was a huge animation movie for the company and it has endured for decades as a favorite. Yggdrasil Gaming has designed their own version of the Jungle Book story, though they’re using the plural version, so it’s called Jungle Books.

Valley Of The Gods
Valley Of The Gods
  • Release: Aug 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.2%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 45 - 3125
  • Mobile: Yes

Valley Of The Gods is Yggdrasil Gaming’s version of an Ancient Egypt slot machine, and they chose to go with something very unique in terms of features, less so with the design. The action will be taking place on a set of 5 reels where a lot of the symbols start off covered, so you get only 45 ways to win at first, with the chance to uncover positions and reach 3125 ways to win over the course of a single spin. You can get multipliers and extra lives from the scarabs that you uncover and collect on the reels, but there are also re-spins available each round.

Rainbow Ryan
Rainbow Ryan
  • Release: Jul 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.0%
  • Reels: 6
  • Lines: 4096
  • Mobile: Yes

Rainbow Ryan is at the same time a very common game and a unique one, depending at which side of it you’re looking at. The theme of the game mixes the Irish leprechaun with rock n roll, so on that account you’re getting something unique by using two topics that have been used plenty of times before. The company responsible for its release is called Yggdrasil Gaming.

Bicicleta

  • Lines: 25
  • Mobile: Yes

Bicicleta is an Yggdrasil Gaming slot machine where the focus is on the sport called football in most countries of the world, or soccer in United States and a couple of others. It’s the single most popular sport among slot machine developers, being used more often as a theme than any other. Bicicleta is one such game, which has a focus on a football game, with the players from the two teams present on the reels.

  • RTP: 96.3%
  • Reels: 5

This Yggdrasil Gaming slot machine is called Trolls Bridge and it seems to play on the idea of the troll living under a bridge, something that has been mentioned in a number of tales. They modified the theme to include troll and goblin warriors which live in a fort, surrounded by a moat that has a mobile bridge, which is also acting as the main gate.

  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 25
  • Mobile: Yes

Spina Colada is a game that Yggdrasil Gaming created and released, a title where they went with a tropical island theme. The focus is fully on the delicious fruit cocktails that you might enjoy during a tropical holiday, and so the symbols are with said cocktails or with the fruits that go into making them.

Sunny Shores
Sunny Shores
  • Release: May 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.2%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 27
  • Mobile: Yes

Sunny Shores gets the tropical island vibe and the design confirms it, with the graphics using a cartoon style that is rather cute. There are a lot of fruits in its design, and not always tropical ones, so there is influence from the classic slots as well in its theme. The game is offered via Yggdrasil Gaming.

Power Plant
Power Plant
  • Release: Apr 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.2%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 82
  • Mobile: Yes

Power Plant doesn’t kid around when it mentions that it’s got a power plant for its focus. The type of power plant that is being copied here isn’t clear, with symbols being logos that show you power sources that include nuclear, wind, water and fire. The game is available through Yggdrasil Gaming, a developer that has proven that it has what it takes to put out a great slot.

Chibeasties 2

  • RTP: 96.2%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 20
  • Mobile: Yes

Chibeasties 2 is the second game to have these cute creatures in the main roles, so this is a sequel that Yggdrasil Gaming is offering us here. The action appears to revolve around cute creatures that live in an enchanted forest, with four different magical realms available to the player to explore.

Beauty And The Beast
Beauty And The Beast
  • Release: Feb 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 97.1%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 20
  • Mobile: Yes

Beauty & The Beast is based on a Disney animated movie, just as much as it gets inspiration from a French fairytale that has the same name. After the 1991 film, the slot got a movie version in 2017, and now there is a slot machine as well that has this particular theme.

Orient Express
Orient Express
  • Release: Feb 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.2%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 20
  • Mobile: Yes

Orient Express is an Yggdrasil Gaming slot machine now, but originally this was the name of a passenger train that ran over long distances, starting from the late 19th century. The most common route that this train took was between the cities of Paris and Constantinople (today’s Istanbul). It was a luxury service which was priced accordingly, and so not a lot of people could afford it.

Alchymedes
Alchymedes
  • Release: Jan 2017
  • Soft: Yggdrasil
  • RTP: 96.1%
  • Reels: 5
  • Lines: 30
  • Mobile: Yes

Alchymedes has a story about magic and about the alchemists, the ones that believed that it is possible to turn metal into gold, among other things. The alchemy inspired design of Alchymedes is a pleasure to look at, as are most slot machines which are offered through Yggdrasil Gaming. In the case of Alchymedes, the developer gave us a layout of 5 reels and 4 symbols per column. There are 30 lines in total, which are always active, while as features they went with levels which can be completed, with wilds and wild patterns, multipliers, bonus games and an Alchemist’s Scale feature.

Yggdrasil Gaming is a developer of slot machines first of all, but which also has content related to the lottery and keno categories. They’ve been founded in Malta, by a former CEO of NetEnt’s, and I think that you will agree that the style of design and general philosophy behind their games will show the resemblance between the two companies. They have a short history, being created in 2013, and yet they already have 40+ high quality games to offer and they’re one of the most impressive new companies in this space that I’ve seen lately. The company’s name derives from the mythical huge tree from Scandinavian Mythology, which acted as a door to all 9 worlds, including Asgard, the one where the gods lived.

The company might be based in Malta, but it also has offices in Poland, Gibraltar and Sweden. Their gaming licenses are obtained in countries like UK, Malta, Romania and Gibraltar.

History

Yggdrasil Gaming was founded in 2013 and they obtained their first gaming license that same year. In 2014 they made the move from Flash to HTML5, insuring that all their games are accessible on both desktop and mobile devices. In 2015, they created Boost, a promotional tool that is available in-game, plus they launched the first network campaign. In 2016, they released a sharing tool for social media, allowing players to brag about their winnings, plus they launched Missions and the Yggdrasil White Label Studios. During all this time, they continued to create new games for the online gambling sites that have their content on offer, of which there are about 60 currently. In 2017 they won awards for “Innovator of the Year” and “Slot Provider of the Year”, at the International Gaming Awards and at the EGR B2B Awards, respectively.

Yggdrassil Casino Games

What Yggdrasil Gaming is most well known for is the slot machines that they create, superb games for the most part, using graphics and features to their advantage. They apparently have other games as well, related to the lottery and keno categories, but the slot machines appear to be their bread and butter. They’ve created over three dozen titles so far, and they done an excellent job with them.

If you look at their earlier slot machines, titles like Robotnik and Fruitoids, you can see how they continued to improve their work in time, and now you have games like Rainbow Ryan or Valley of the Gods to look forward to. There are plenty other games to enjoy, and as favorites I would mention Beauty & The Beast, Double Dragons and Monkey King.

Those looking for slot machines that offer something unique, will probably find something like that in pretty much any game of theirs, though in some cases it will be the theme, other times the layout or the features. Theme wise, I think that slots like Orient Express, Legend of the White Snake Lady, Nirvana or Seasons will be very interesting and mostly unique. Among the ones that are more common, you will find games inspired by the Irish (Rainbow Ryan), Ancient Egypt (Valley of the Gods), the circus (Wicked Circus), soccer (Bicicleta) or mythical creatures (Double Dragons).

Graphics

One of the things that have made me pay attention to Yggdrasil Gaming’s slot machines in the first place was the quality of the graphics in pretty much all titles that they released so far. Some of them might be less interesting because of the choice of theme or symbols, but you can’t ever say that the designers didn’t do their best in actually creating all those images. I look forward to every slot machine they create, and I’m often excited once I see what they came up with. I can give you a dozen different examples of slot machines of theirs that I enjoyed because of their graphics, but I will mention just two. One of them is Legend of the White Snake Lady, the other is called Legend of the Golden Monkey. It just so happens that both are games that are inspired by Chinese legends.

Features

Once again, this is an area where Yggdrasil Gaming tends to innovate or at least use features that feel rare. I don’t actually remember any game of theirs where they used only basic features, without doing something exciting to them. Among the names of the features that you can discover just by taking a look at a couple of random slots, you will find Dropdown Wins, Dragon Heads, nudges, free spins, wilds, respins with locked wilds, Count Down Wilds, Sticky Wilds, bonus games and many others.

Payouts

Looking at regular combinations, you’re probably never going to be satisfied with the prizes you get from them. The typical high paying combo will give you around 200-300 coins, which usually means less than $2,000. The bonus features will often have payouts of 5,000 coins, and in one case I’ve even seen a game offer 25,000 coins that way. Either way, there is no questioning the average RTP of their games, which almost always starts at 96% and even reaches 97% in some cases.
