Once more, we’re looking at one of Playtech’s releases in the Kingdoms Rise series, one of their important offerings. Legion Uprising sets the location in a fantasy setting, a place where the living is fighting the undead. With swords, dragons and magic, there are plenty of fantasy elements involved, and it’s enough to make the game attractive for a player that’s a fan of the genre. The series is a powerful one, but it has its drawbacks as well, mainly when it comes to the tokens system that they’ve implemented.
Kingdoms Rise: Legion Uprising works out with 25 active lines on its 5x3 reels. It can deliver impressive wins, of up to 18,000x typically, and as much as 24,000x if you use tokens to buy yourself access to the main features. Medium to high volatility awaits you inside, and the game offers a 96.02% RTP long-term (some of that is the token system). Among its features, the game has free spins, regular and sticky wilds, as well as up to 6x-8x multipliers.
$0.10 is the absolute minimum wager that is possible, and it’s more than enough to get things going. Those that can afford it, will be able to increase wagers up to $2,000.
When it comes to the potential of the game, it’s more than decent, though there are some caveats. The paid spins have the potential to pay up to 3,000 the stake, while the 6x maximum multipliers of the free spins can take the jackpot up to 18,000x.
And then, we also have the buy bonus option, which is going to give you better free spins than you can trigger on your own. The multiplier now goes up to 8x, and so the top jackpot will reach 24,000x.
In addition to the big jackpots that the free spins have to offer, you can also trigger one of the progressive jackpots, three different options being on the table. The big one has a minimum value of $100,000.
Where I don’t like what the game is doing, is when it comes to its tokens system. You collect these as you play, and then you can use them to buy access to features. They take away from your chances to win straight-up cash though since they contribute with 3% of the 96% RTP.
The Queen symbol is one of the main feature symbols available to you. It’s a substitute that can pay the big prize (120x the stake) when creating combinations of its own. It’s the usual role, but it pays 3x the amount you can land through a regular symbol. This means that you can’t count on wilds coming easily, they’re going to be very rare since they’re the ones paying the most.
A simple Free Games logo will make it easy for you to see when scatters land on the reels. Those need to appear on 3, 4, or 5 reels, and in exchange, the game offers up to 100x the stake in prizes and then triggers 10 free spins.

The only other feature consists of a bonus game, one that you get at random, and through which you get a chance at a progressive jackpot (Epic, Power Strike, or Daily Strike).
Playtech knows very well how to design a proper slot machine, and they’ve done a great job with Legion Uprising. The entire Kingdoms Rise series is superb though, and it’s a good pick for anyone that loves the fantasy genre.
A legion of the dead is rising in this particular game of the series, and you get to take a look at their Queen (wild), Free Games Logos (scatters), Dragons, Skeletons, Witches, Spell Books, Crystals, and four low paying gemstones. Look behind the game area, and you find a volcano’s molting lava, slowly making its way through the rocks.
Kingdoms Rise: Legion Uprising is the usual impressive release from Playtech and a good new addition to the series. If we go beyond its huge potential and its decent RTP, we find that a good chunk of that is going to the tokens system, while the regular side only has about 93% RTP. It’s not looking quite as good after that, but it remains a solid option if you’re a fan of their Shop system.
