Fruits & Jokers is one of quite a few slot machines from Playson to be inspired by jokers, coming on the heels of releases like Joker Expand or 40 Joker Staxx. Incidentally, these slots are also using the same female joker image for their main roles as the game we’re reviewing here.
This classic themed game has 5x3 reels with 20 fixed lines that you can bet on. On the feature side of things, Fruits & Jokers has Star scatters and Joker Wilds, nothing else. Simple or not, the game can offer jackpots of up to $40,000 and for those interested in simpler gameplay, it could be a good pick.
Betting and Prizes
For anyone that has tried Playson slot machines in the past, it shouldn’t be a surprise the way they allow betting to be done. It’s a simple enough system, where you get a list of possible bet values to be used for all available lines. The smallest value on that list is $0.20, while the highest one is $100.
On the prize side of things, the paytable will tell you what you can win, based on the selected wager. Winning combinations of up to $7,500 will add up to a maximum prize of $150,000 from a single round. If you’re looking for the best possible outcome from five scattered symbols, those pay $40,000.
Fruits & Jokers Slot Features
The game is incredibly simple, and feature wise it doesn’t offer us all that much. Both symbols that were used are present in thousands of other slot machines, often enough in a much more elaborate form than here.
First of all, let’s check out the Joker Wild, the symbol that is capable of paying the big jackpot of the game. It’s going to give you a 1,500x reward for each full combo it forms, so up to $7,500 cash. As I mentioned above, a screen filled with these wilds can pay $150,000, which is the maximum potential that the game can reach. Don’t expect to be using wilds as replacements for scatters, but do count on them being there for you when the regulars need help.
When it comes to scatter symbols, Fruits & Jokers relies on a Gold Star for this particular icon. Have it appear anywhere in the game, but in a single round, and with three to five symbols you get a cash prize that could reach 400x the bet ($40,000). It’s a good reward, so it makes up for the lack of any other feature. Other games might’ve given you a smaller cash prize and some free spins or a bonus game, but Fruits & Jokers keeps things simpler.
Theme & Design
With a classic theme in use, Fruits & Jokers is not going to be a very impressive game to play. The graphics end up looking modern, despite the theme, but I didn’t find the images of Jokers, stars, 7s, watermelons, grapes, lemons, oranges and cherries all that interesting otherwise.
Playson did just enough design wise, to make sure that the look will not be an issue, but it’s definitely not a plus for the slot either.
Fruits & Jokers can pay very well, but the theme and action will be as simple as it gets in a 5 reel slot machine. If you’re the type of player that prefers simple slots, Fruits & Jokers is going to be good for you.
