NetEnt appears to be trying to appeal to every taste with their collection, so after launching a lot of great-looking moder slots, filled with features, with lower or higher volatility, they’re now coming up with a game like Disco Danny. It’s a 3-reel title, fairly simple for the most part, which does mix in a couple of modern options, but otherwise it’s not going to be appealing to a lot of players.
3x3 reels spin in Disco Danny, delivering 5 active lines. Wins of 500x the stake is the most that you can get in a single spin, but the free spins improve the game’s potential, to over 3,000x the stake. I think you will be OK with the RTP of 96.04%, it’s nothing special, and as features you get a couple of scatters and free spins with multipliers and a special mechanic.
Simply select the bet for the upcoming spin, it’s going to be within a range of $0.10 to $250, which is enough to cover anyone’s budget adequately.
100x the stake is the best payout coming from a single combo in the base game, and 500x is what you win when covering the reels with those top symbols. The potential is higher during the free spins, where you get only prize symbols and level multipliers, with recorded payouts during testing of more than 3,000x the stake.
As a slot with high volatility, Disco Danny might not feel terribly rewarding, and if you give it a chance you better be prepared for long stretches of gameplay without any significant wins. In fact, only about 1 in 7 rounds will get you paid, and that might not be enough to keep you playing. RTP does look fine, at 96.04%, despite the game’s volatile nature.
Gold Disco Balls are scatters which are going to be used to get you paid, as having one show up brings along a cash prize as well.
The second scatter has a Silver Disco Ball to show off. With either three Silver Disco Balls, or two with one Gold Disco Ball, you can trigger the free spins. It’s not going to use all the symbols from the base game though. Only blanks and Gold Disco Balls are used, and you start off with 3 free spins. The number resets if more Gold symbols show up, and if they do, they become sticky. If you manage to fill the reels with Gold Disco Balls, then you get the prizes shown on them, along with a multiplier that’s applied to the level that you’re at.
Next, you can get to another level of the free spins, with a higher multiplier and a new group of Gold Disc Balls to collect. As the Gold Disco Balls bring prizes of up to 50x the stake, and you get up to 9 of that value in a level, along with up to 10x multipliers (at level 5), it actually looks like you could get 4,500x the stake or more, in theory.
With an 80s style Disco inspired design, and with Dannys acting as main characters on the dance floor, NetEnt tries to go for the retro angle in this one. They succeed, and it’s not a bad looking game for the 3-reel category. The symbols deliver the Gold and Silver Disco Balls, Disco King, Disco Danny, Roller Skates, Lucky 7s, Bar Logos (1, 2 or 3 of them).
Disco Danny keeps things fairly simple, and the base game can be very tough to get through, so this high volatility option will not appeal to everyone.
