Designed by Nemesis, Wrath of Ymir is a slot machine that they’ve dedicated to one of the major figures of Norse mythology. Ymir was one of the initial beings that appeared in the world, both male and female, a primordial being that is an ancestor to certain beings, including giants and the like. It’s an interesting idea, one we haven’t seen in most Norse slots, most of which tend to recycle the same few gods.
Wrath of Ymir delivers 20 active lines at most, and it’s using 5x3 reels to do it. The potential is pretty good, with rewards of 125x the stake mentioned per line, and apparently up to 2,500x the stake per spin. It comes with a 95.80% RTP. Exploding symbols, wilds, scatters, and free spins, are its major special features.
If you rely on all 20 lines, the wagers of the game will have a range of $0.20 to $1,000.
In exchange, the game can pay a fair amount, up to 125x the stake for a full combo of the right symbols. Given the 20 lines available, a top jackpot of 2,500x the stake appears to be possible, though it’s not mentioned at what level the cap is set.
As for the RTP of the game, it’s at 95.80%, which is fine, though it could’ve been better.
One of the things to note about the way Wrath of Ymir works is that it incorporates Exploding Symbols. The mechanic is called Cascading or Tumbling Reels elsewhere, but it works the same way. You will find that the winning symbols/combinations are going to be removed from the game area, allowing others to replace them, and trigger new wins. The exploding positions keep bringing new symbols if you keep forming combinations.
A Wild logo will be present on the reels and will be used as a way to gain access to form more combinations. Its standard role, that of the substitute, is being used when it finds itself next to regular symbols.
There will be a free spins feature as well, with 7 to 18 rounds offered, where the requirement is to have 3 to 5 scattered Free Spin logos in view at the same time.
Ymir, the ancestor of the giants, is the main character that is present on the reels and in the story designed for this game. Wrath of Ymir will feature images of simple logos for the symbols triggering free spins or acting as substitutes. Three runes (green, blue, red) will be used to form winning combinations of lower value, while the premium symbols show us the Axe, Hammer, Helmet, Skull, Sword, and of a character called Rovik.
Wrath of Ymir has the advantage of a theme that’s not quite like the rest in the Norse category. The fact that they added exploding symbols is also a plus for it, at least if it’s compared with other Nemesis slot machines.
