Nemesis Games Studio has us taking the role of Chorizo Bill, in a Wild West adventure where we’re trying to save our girl from the hands of the Indians. Under a Burning Sky is the name of this new slot game, which features a standard story, but manages to be interesting even so.

Under a Burning Sky comes with 5x3 reels, and it gives us 25 active win lines. Up to 100x the stake can be claimed from each line, and it looks like the slot could deliver wins of 2,500x the stake (the cap is not mentioned though). As for the major features that you will discover inside, those include the Gun Wild, Sheriff’s Badge scatter, and the usual free spins.

Betting and Prizes

You are able to select 10 to 25 lines to play with, so the minimum bet required to spin the reels can change as well, between $0.10 and $0.25. At the other end, you can use coins of up to $1, and a maximum bet of $25.

100x the stake, or $2,500 cash, is what a single winning combo can pay you. It’s classified as a Crazy Win by the game, the biggest tier, so it doesn’t look like the slot fulfills its entire potential (up to 2,500x the stake, if allowed to pay on all lines).

RTP-wise, there are several numbers that we’ve seen mentioned. The rules page shows a 93.92% RTP, while the developer mentions it at 98.20%. The difference is huge, and I suspect that either operator can choose their own value, or that the true RTP is somewhere in the middle.

Under a Burning Sky Game Features

The entire list of features is kind of basic, but I don’t mind having it in the game. The wild is one example, a symbol shown with the image of a Gun. It’s a replacement symbol, but you can only use it to form new combinations together with the regulars, it will not trigger other features. It doesn’t do anything special, it’s the same version we know from other slots.

Worth mentioning, in the case of the wild, is that its own combinations pay the most, up to 100x the stake for 5 of them on a line (Crazy Win).

The other major feature symbol would be the Sheriff Badge, a scatter that you can get once on each of the 5 reels. It’s useful when it lands 3, 4, or 5 times, as this gets you into a free spins feature, with 7, 15, or 22 rounds. You can then retrigger this feature.

Theme & Design

This is a slot machine with a fairly simple Wild West theme, showing off a variety of characters, and following the story of Chorizo Bill, living in Chorizo Town. Not a lot of imagination is shown with the choice of names, but it works just fine.

Besides the Gun and the Badge, which are feature symbols, we also have images of the Jack, Queen, King, Ace, Cactus, Pickaxe, Whiskey, Horseshoe, Skull, and Money Bag.

Conclusion

Under a Burning Sky is a decent attempt at a Wild West themed slot machine, a bit too simple for my tastes, but for a casual player, it could work. Pay attention to its RTP from the rules page, and if it’s too low, then I’d recommend you to think about the chances when you play this slot.
