An older series, which has seen a lot of titles released both for land-based and online casinos, Rainbow Riches adds one more game, called Pots of Gold. It’s a slot that was designed as an addition to the Mega Drop Progressive Jackpot, without any new graphics or advanced features. It can be a good option for some of the fans that the series has gotten over the years, but I doubt it will get any new players to try it out.

Rainbow Riches: Pots of Gold works through the standard 5x3 reels and 20 lines that we see in plenty of slots, and it uses them to deliver wins of up to 500x the stake in the base game, and up to 5,000x the stake during certain features. Add the Mega Drop progressive jackpots to the list of payouts that can trigger through it, and at that point I quite like the RTP that the game ends up with, of 96.40%. It’s going to have fairly high volatility though. There isn’t a lot inside when it comes to big features, only wilds scatters and a bonus feature.

Betting and Prizes

Using 20 coins, and getting 20 active lines in exchange, the game starts you off with $0.20 to $50 wagered on each spin. This will allow for a bet of up to $2.50 to be used per line.

A combo of five wilds pays 25x the stake, and a screen full of these symbols gets you up to 500x the stake. You win quite a bit more in the slot’s bonus feature, up to 5,000x the stake.

Pots of Gold is part of the Mega Drop network, giving its players access to three progressive jackpots, though only the Epic one is worth it, offering up to $15,000. The others are capped at $5,000 and $1,500.

Rainbow Riches: Pots of Gold Game Features

The usual wild symbol is going to be present, and helpful in the long run, as it keeps trying to act as a substitute when it lands. This may get you a better regular combo, but it will not help you with the triggering of a feature. Its own wins are the best that the game offers, worth 25x the stake per line that’s fully covered.

The other symbol, a scatter with the Pot of Gold, gets you access to a bonus game when there are 3 to 5 symbols visible. The range of the prizes changes, based on the number of triggering symbols. For the best potential, with five triggering Pots of Gold, you’re looking at prizes from 50x to 5,000x the stake. It’s a Wheel of Fortune-style feature, without the actual wheel, just with pots of gold spinning around a leprechaun.

Theme & Design

Barcrest is keeping with the same formula in Rainbow Riches: Pots of Gold, as in the rest of the series, and has an Irish-themed design with quite the dated look. It’s not a great design, but it delivers what the fan of the series expects, and there can be a certain amount of comfort in that. I doubt it will get any new players though, it just looks too old of a game. In addition to Royals, from 10 to A, the game also has symbols with the logo, the Pot of Gold, and the wild.

Conclusion

Rainbow Riches: Pots of Gold is a decently new game in a series that has a long history behind it, and those that are its fans will appreciate its offer and the inclusion of a progressive jackpot.
