Barcrest’s Rainbow Riches series just got a new game, and it’s called Fortune Favours. It’s offering the same theme of Irish inspiration that is used in the others, and it’s a fairly standard release for these guys, in terms of features and types of graphics used.
You get just 10 win lines, on which you can bet and you can get paid up to $125,000 in a single combo. Feature wise, you have the Big Bet spins, wild symbols and mystery Magic Fairies, so it’s a bit lighter in this area, compared with other slots.
Betting and Prizes
When you’re setting up the bet, you are typically using values that range from $0.10 to $500. Since 10 win lines are allowed to be active, you are going to have $0.01 to $50 invested in each one. As usual, since it’s a Barcrest release, you also get Big Bet Spins that range in value between $10 and $50, and which are giving you 5 spins at a time.
The best wins obtainable in the base game will come via symbols that pay up to 2,500x, or $125,000 cash at most. The slot mentions that it doesn’t pay more than $250,000 from a single round. As for the RTP, it varies, once again as usual in slots from Barcrest. You can get a theoretical RTP as small as 94% in the long run, or as high as 97.75% if you choose the Big Bet Spins.
Rainbow Riches Slot Features
It’s not the richest game when you look at the features, especially since while in the regular spins you get only a Magic Fairy Bonus symbol. This is going to be a mystery symbol, which appears stacked and is transformed in a single other symbol.
A wild is also present, but that one is limited to the Big Bet Spins that are worth at least $30, so unless you pay that much at a time, you’re not going to get this feature. Naturally, it’s going to be the standard replacement symbol when it shows up, and you will use it to form more winning combinations.
Big Bet Spins are the ones that make the slot worth playing, and that’s the case with most Barcrest releases. The RTP jumps to 97.75% when you play these spins. In this game, the Big Bet rounds are played with four sets of reels on the screen.
The $10 Big Bet game has only the Magic Fairy for a feature. Go to the $20 Big Bets, and you also get this feature symbol to transfer to the next reel set when it appears. For the $30 Big Bets, besides the initial features you also gain access to the wild symbols. The $40 Big Bets continue to build on that, now allowing the wilds to transfer to the other reels as well. Finally, for the $50 Big Bet Spins, on top of all the other extra features that I mentioned, you also get reels that remove the 10, J and Q symbols.
Theme & Design
The graphics were never one of the strong suits in the Barcrest collection. It’s the Irish theme that the Rainbow Riches series uses and its symbols consist of fairies, wild gold coins, a total of five playing cards, toadstools, a harp, a rainbow and the Rainbow Riches logo. It’s not a great design, but luckily the slot compensates in other areas.
Rainbow Riches: Fortune Favours ends up being a very simple slot machine, in terms of features that is, but things get better if you can afford to use the Big Bet Spins at their highest value. If not, don’t bother with this one.
