Ninja Vixens Slot Machine Review

Ninja Vixens is one of Yggdrasil’s many new online slots, but the actual developer that created it is called Dreamtech Gaming. The YGS Masters programs have helped quite a few smaller studios reach a larger audience, and that’s what we’re seeing in this case as well. The actual theme they’ve gone for is one of the more interesting things about this game, which features martial arts and young female ninjas, wearing the kind of skimpy outfits and showing enough cleavage that it would make them very hard to ignore. It doesn’t seem like a good choice for a stealthy ninja, but hey, I’m not going to argue with the Dreamtech designers on this one.

Looking at the game area they’ve provided us, you will find that only 5 active lines are included, on 5 reels. It’s not that easy getting wins then, but the slot can still end up paying as much as $316,000 per spin. A game with high volatility will have a 96.1% long-term RTP. Special features included in its case, range from stacked symbols to re-spins, and three types of free spins.

With only 5 lines to cover, Ninja Vixens requires the use of 100 coins each round, which is highly unusual. As you pick a coin value anywhere between $0.01 and $3, the total amount spent on a spin goes from $1 to $300.

I’ve seen mentioned top wins of up to $316,000 for a single spin, which is not a huge return for a slot machine that’s supposed to have high volatility. Individual combinations pay up to 20x the stake per line, and 100x the stake per spin (you could get more from free spins or re-spins).

As for the Return to Player value, it’s 96.1% that looks good enough for a modern game.

Ninja Vixens Game Features

There are about four different scatters included with this online slot machine, but no wilds.

First, there is a Re-Spin symbol, which can be used by the player when there are three of these landing on the same line. This triggers the Re-Spin feature, and you start it off with just one such round. Once it gets going, you can get additional re-spins in the same manner, via 3+ special symbols.

What the re-spin mode gives extra, is a better chance of gaining access to free spins. If you can get to a 4th re-spin, you’re guaranteed access to this feature. The further along you get, the higher the odds of getting one of the better free spin features to trigger (Grandmaster only becomes available during the 4th re-spin).

One of the three types of free spins, the Ninja feature will consist of 8 rounds and will require 3 symbols with the Ninja logo appearing on the same line. The feature symbols are eliminated for the first 7 rounds, but the various Ninjas can land during the 8th one, for a chance to retrigger it.

Second, there is a Master Ninja, which works in the same manner, with 3 symbols landing on a line being required to get 8 free spins. Once again, only during the 8th spin do you get the feature symbols back, and you can retrigger the feature. The odds are better to get the later versions of the free spins, rather than the basic Ninja Free Games.

Finally, you can get 1 Grandmaster Ninja Spin, if you land 3 of those special symbols on a line. You play with 1 line, and there are three versions of the Grandmaster that will appear on the reels (no others are allowed). Winning on that 1 line automatically adds 1 extra spin. Once this feature is over, you get access to a Master Ninja feature.

Finally, there is also a random bonus game here, that can deliver one of the three types of free spins, or a prize worth 5x to 50x the stake.

Theme & Design

Sporting Anime-style graphics and female ninjas wearing skimpy outfits, Ninja Vixens clearly has the male audience in mind first and foremost. They did a good job with the graphics in this one though, I found it an enjoyable design.

I’d mention the four feature symbols first, with the three versions of the Ninja, Master Ninja and Grandmaster Ninja logos, while the fourth shows a Respin logo with crossed throwing knives. The top symbols show off dragons, foxes, cats, and lions, followed by four elemental icons. The three female ninjas are stacked symbols.

Conclusion

Ninja Vixens does deliver a decent range of features, and it has a good RTP and excellent graphics, so it’s worth looking into. The prizes it offers seem a bit low, and the features don’t appear to be very well differentiated, so it’s not always clear why you would want to get one over another.
