The city of Las Vegas has often proved to be an excellent source of inspiration for slot developers. Realtime Gaming is releasing a new slot which is taking us to the Strip, and it’s called Vegas Lux. They do try to put forward a certain feeling of luxury with this one, and I’d say they succeed at borrowing something from the City of Sin.
Vegas Lux has 5 reels, along with 720 ways to win, making it fairly easy to form combinations. On the other hand, only 1,320x the stake is what the top jackpot is worth. It’s a slot machine which will have the usual wilds, scatters, but also free spins to trigger, a good mix but not exactly unusual these days.
In a game where there are 720 ways to win, luckily we don’t have to use that many coins for each round. You select a wager between $0.50 and $25, and the spins will trigger. Bets of up to $0.50 appear possible on each virtual bet line.
The payouts available in Vegas Lux are the kind that you’d expect to get in a slot machine with medium volatility. It’s going to reach 1,320x the stake at most, which would mean up to $33,000 cash won when the highest bet was selected. Not a huge amount, but depending on how volatile the game is, it could be enough to make it worth your time and money.
Among the main features that are mentioned for Vegas Lux, we find that the Wild will be one of the options that will typically trigger more for you. Though you only get these substitutes to show up on the middle three reels, they can still contribute to a lot of different combinations from there. It’s not that difficult really, since the slot has 720 ways to win, and just being on the right reel is enough to get you paid, the exact position is not important.
Diamond scatters can appear on all reels, and they are going to be used as triggers for some decent rewards, paid immediately if you get three to five symbols in view. 2X, 10x and 50x are the three levels of its prizes, for 3, 4 or 5 Diamonds in view, respectively.
In the base game, getting the Free Games icons to appear five times on just as many reels, will trigger for you 8 free spins. You can have multiple scatters on the same reel, and several winning combinations with these can form up, so you win multiples of the 8 rounds when that happens. The feature retriggers if there are additional scatters that show up, with a limit placed at 240 rounds.
The city of Las Vegas is once again the place where the action is taking place in a slot machine. You’re going to see its dazzling lights and beautiful casinos in the background image, while the reels take a somewhat unusual form, with 3-4-5-4-3 symbols on its 5 reels. It’s going to show off quite a few classic symbols, which is not that interesting, but at least the quality of its design is pretty good. Those symbols include the Wild Sign, Free Games logo, Diamond scatter, Triple 7s, Gambler, Showgirl, the four card suit icons, plus the Cherries.
Vegas Lux could work out, as a game that casual players will want to get into, without huge top payouts and a fairly common mix of features present inside. The free spins appear to carry quite a bit of potential, especially if you can get them to appear several times on some of those reels.
