The games from RTG are tested by TST, an independent auditor that makes sure that the company’s RNG system is truly random. The company appears to be based in Curacao, and the company behind it is called Hastings International BV.
Realtime Gaming started out as a US based company, from Atlanta, its founding date being in 1998. The company was moved about 10 years later, to Costa Rica, in Heredia, in the year when it was acquired by Hastings International, from Curacao. RTG won a number of awards in the first couple of years after it was founded. They’re among the few developers that get involved in the licensing of the casinos using their platform, so some of them are even accessible to US players.
RTG Casino Games
One of the most diverse collections of casino games can be found in RTG’s possession. The company naturally focuses on slot machines first and foremost, since that’s what all the big companies in this space are doing. Well over 100 instant play titles are offered by them in this category alone, and it is estimated that in total they have 300+ casino games. There will be a range of table games among those, with half a dozen blackjack variants, with the major Roulette games, bingo, keno and other specialty titles. There will also be a number of Video Poker games available.
Getting back to the slot machines, you will find that there are plenty of those offered, and with a very good variety when it comes to the available themes. The downside with their collection is that they’ve been designing slots for a long time now, and in many of those titles you will find graphics that are far from attractive by now. Still, at the time when their content was released, the features and graphics were top notch, and they’re still perfectly playable today. You will also get newer games from them, and those will be very well made, able to compete with any other slot released by their competitors. A slot like Kung Fu Rooster is a good example of a high end game that they’ve released recently.
Theme wise, I enjoyed the variety in the RTG slots. They have plenty of unique themes in them, and I can mention slots like Zombies vs Cheerleaders, Sweet 16, Shark School or Hillbillies, to give you an idea of the kind of content they offer. They also have quite a few Christmas themed slots, ones where they’ve gone a different route than most, using attractive girls and a war between Santa and Rudolph as their themes.
RTG isn’t necessarily known for their progressive jackpots, but they do have a few titles which offer these prizes. Megasaurus and Spirit of the Inca are two such slots, where the top payouts are pooled from all casinos where these games are available.
Besides the regular slots, where they picked the themes and thought them up from scratch, they also have branded titles, mostly based on a couple of retro TV shows. The Three Stooges and The Big Bopper are such games.
As I mentioned before, the graphics for their slot machines are going to vary a lot. You have the older slot machines on one side, the ones from a decade or two ago, which have graphics that were considered very good at the time, but no longer. Then, you also get some more recent slots, which will look impressive. The Naughty List, The Nice List, Kung Fu Rooster and other slots are very good examples, as are pretty much all new slots they release right now.
The features tend to be among the strengths that RTG’s slot machines have. They’re rarely offered just in their basic form, most of the time free spins or wilds having a multiplier attached, or some other type of features to improve it. Scatters, wilds, bonus games, these are all staples in RTG made slot games. I’ve even found free spins in one of their 3 reel slots, called The Three Stooges II.
The payouts that look impressive are the ones that consist of progressive jackpots. The regular prizes are on the low side usually, mostly as a result of having so many features included in the games. The common values that I found were mostly in the range of 500x to 2,000x, when it came to the jackpots. Most slots also offered multipliers though, so there was potential for more in certain situations.
