It’s a Christmas and New Year’s Party, two in one design wise, and we’re looking at a slot machine from RTG here, called Epic Holiday Party. It’s not going to take us to the North Pole, but rather to a fun party somewhere in Vegas by the looks of it, with a silver-haired Santa and plenty of attractive young women all dressed up in party costumes. From major features, to progressive jackpots, there should be more than enough inside to get your attention, even if you prefer something more traditional for the holidays.
You will get to play this one on 5x3 reels, and there will be 243 ways to win for you to use. Both regular and progressive jackpots can trigger inside, where the former bring you up to 50,000 coins ($5,000). The latter include the Grand, Major, Minor and Mini versions, with minimum values as high as $5,000. Big features are going to give us a leveling up system, wilds, scatters and free spins.
Betting and Prizes
The bets are not as straightforward here, as in other games. You select the bet level, from 0 to 4, and along the way you change the number of coins used, from 8 to 88. The coin denomination appears to go from $0.01 to $0.10, so the full range for bets is from $0.08 to $8.80.
Those relatively small bets can be turned into just as limited jackpots, as the highest that the game seems capable of going is 50,000x the base bet, which means up to $5,000 cash.
The progressive jackpots are going to be unlocked as you take up the wager, so those with smaller bets can’t get the Grand Jackpot ($5,000 or more). The other three jackpots involved are called Major ($1,000+), Minor ($250+) and Mini ($50+).
Epic Holiday Party Game Features
There will be wild symbols for you to use, and they will come in handy, thanks to the ways to win system which makes their job easier. They are replacements for regulars, but not for scatters. Regular wilds show up as Money Bags, on the middle three reels.
Multiplying Wilds are shown as Snow Globes, and they only land on the 3rd reel.
Speaking of scatters, those show up with the Free Games logo, and with a Christmas tree behind them. Landing enough of these in sight, will get you to the free spins mode, 12 rounds offered when that happens. The free spins do retrigger, if the requirements are met again.
One more cool thing about the free spins, is that they remove low value symbols from the game area, so you can get better rewards.
Level upgrading is a thing as well, and as you do so, there is a boost to cash prizes that can be won, but also to the available multipliers. The number of coins changes, as you modify the level of the bet, and there are increasing multipliers (up to 5x) and bigger progressive jackpots to play with.
Theme & Design
It’s a party, the kind of thing you’d expect to see in Las Vegas, with beautiful women making up the majority of the slot’s symbols. Each of them dressed up in a different holiday outfit, there are four in total, to accompany the silver-haired main character which is wearing Santa’s costume. Add things like Snow Globes, Money Bags or Christmas Trees, when it comes to feature symbols. The last few symbols are the Royals, which range from 9 to A.
A good design overall, not quite traditional for Christmas, but close enough that it’s still a good holiday choice.
Conclusion
If you want a New Year’s Eve themed game, Epic Holiday Party from RTG fits the bill, and it could certainly be a way for you to go into the next year. It’s not a game that will pay huge prizes, it doesn’t have an impressive RTP (below 96% in any case), and the progressive jackpots seem fairly limited as well. It’s OK to waste some time with, but it’s not a life changing kind of game.
