One of RTG’s brand new releases, Cai Bling gives us a wealth themed design, with clear influences from China’s culture. It’s not quite the usual Eastern look though, as it incorporates more diamonds and gold than many of the other slots in this category. Otherwise, it’s a typical option theme wise, and if we look at the mix of characters and precious metals shown everywhere.
With 5x3 reels, Cai Bling has 243 ways to win, and if you can take advantage of them, you can walk away with rewards of up to 50,000x the base bet (line bet). Regular and multiplying wilds, scatters and free spins, these are the main features which were incorporated.
Betting and Prizes
The wagers will require that you use anywhere between $0.80 and $88, so it looks like you’re able to use up to 88 coins there, and in exchange you get 243 ways to win. The number of golden symbols, which are selected from the left side, will influence the number of coins required (8 to 88 available).
Though RTG doesn’t make it easy to figure out how much you can win in their games, the 50,000x payout which they mention here, appears to be connected to the line bet, rather than the total stake. It’s nowhere near as interesting then, as it might sound at first.
Four progressive jackpots were included, which is one more thing to take note of. The best one is the Grand Jackpot, while the less valuable alternatives are the Major, Minor and Mini Jackpots.
Cai Bling Game Features
A Green Dragon Wild will land on the reels 2, 3 or 4, and from there it may be used as a substitute for most symbols, though the Multiplying Wild is an exception.
A much bigger role will go to the Multiplying Wild, though you get this one only on the 3rd reel. It’s going to deliver a multiplier of up to 5x, depending on the level of the bet which you’ve selected (8 to 88 coins used).
And then, we have the Scatter symbol, marked with a logo and showing us another image of a cat. Landing 3, 4 or 5 times, but on consecutive reels and from left to right, the symbol gets you paid (50x the stake) and then triggers the free spins. As all other symbols form combinations the same way, with symbols on consecutive reels in a ways to win system, there is nothing scatter-like about this symbol.
You receive 12 free spins then, with the option to retrigger them in the same manner.
One of the other important elements to mention, is the use of regular and golden symbols. They’re listed on the special column from the left side. You click on them, to turn them golden, but this gives the wager a boost as well. You can have 1 to 5 golden symbols, and the wagers will range from 8 to 88 coins as a result.
You can get progressive jackpots, along with higher multiplying wilds and much better rewards, if you choose to unlock the golden variants for the top symbols.
As for the progressive jackpots, those trigger via their own bonus feature. To get them, you need a wild symbol to land, and if it’s the only one, you get one of the jackpots. If there are several wilds, a picking bonus game is used instead. Depending on the wager and the number of golden symbols available, you may or may not get access to a progressive jackpot.
Theme & Design
You are looking at a fairly typical Chinese themed game, with a focus on wealth and showing a lot of gold and jewelry on its reels. The focus on bling and gold might be even higher than in other similar games, at least if we go by the surrounding decorations. Regular symbols show us Royals which are encrusted with gems, while high pay icons give us a gold ingot and four characters. The premium symbols have golden versions as well.
The design looks fine, cartoon-like and cute in some areas, but I’m not a big fan of the amount of shiny gemstones that they added everywhere.
Conclusion
Cai Bling slot looks fine, particularly if you’re a fan of the category and you’re looking for a typical Asian-style casino games. I don’t like their scatter symbols and the limitations placed on them, or the way they claim to be offering 50,000x payouts, only to discover that it’s based on the line bet, and not the total stake.
