One of several innovative game mechanics that we’ve seen from Big Time Gaming, the Megaclusters system has been licensed by Relax Gaming, and they’ve proceeded to design their own games which use it. Kluster Krystals Megaclusters is the first slot machine they’ve put out with this particular mechanic, and I do love what they did with it, especially as they didn’t just clone the games which the original creators launched so far.
Kluster Krystals Megaclusters has 5x5 reels and Cluster Pays, which are coupled with the Megaclusters mechanic. Beyond the number of symbols from the reels, which will get a boost following wins, there are also Avalanches to take advantage of, along with up to 10x multipliers, several random modifiers, plus free spins. The game’s RTP is set to 96.49%, while its rewards can bring you up to 500x the stake with each cluster that you form.
The range of your bets is standard, and as such, you can go with as little as $0.10 per spin, or with as much as $100.
There is no word on how high the cap is for a single spin of Kluster Krystals Megaclusters, but individual clusters can pay up to 50x the stake on their own, and up to 500x if you get the highest multipliers applied to them. There are Avalanches, and it’s possible to give the game area a boost through the Megacluster mechanic, so the potential is quite a bit higher.

As this is a slot machine with Cluster Pays, to form winning clusters all you need is to have 8 to 20+ symbols next to each other, touching horizontally or vertically. This happens on a set with 5x5 reels initially, but as the Megaclusters mechanic comes into play, the gemstone-like symbols get additional pieces added to them, so you go from 1 to 4 symbols in a single position.
The upgrade of symbols is possible for neighbouring positions, not for the ones which are part of wins, as those get removed and replaced with new ones. Some of those neighbours which were not part of a cluster will get more symbols, while multiplier versions will go up in value, up to three times. They can have an initial multiplier between 1x and 10x.
The Avalanche is also responsible for other features, which you get at random once you go through 6 consecutive avalanches. The modifiers which can trigger then will either remove single symbols, upgrade all symbols to the next stage, or remove one type of symbol from the game area.
Getting into the free spins is possible via a special Bonus symbol, which needs to have clusters form next to it. It upgrades then, and once it gets to the full size (four segments), it gives you 7 free spins. These can be retriggered.
It’s an unusual-looking game, with crystals cut into different shapes, from circles to stars, squares and more. These are also coloured differently, in green, purple, pink, blue and red. You get a single piece of the symbol initially, and you can upgrade them through Megaclusters, and eventually, they could end up being four symbols in the same position. It’s not immediately apparent that the game uses Megaclusters, as they designed it differently than Big Time Gaming, and that’s a good thing.
