Power of Thor Megaways might be one of the many slots which get inspiration from mythology, but that doesn’t make it less interesting. A lot of that is based on the use of various powerful features, which start with the Megaways engine that Pragmatic Play decided to use in its original form. Decent graphics, a good RTP, but also a somewhat low jackpot, these are some of the things that you should consider when looking into this game.

It is a slot with high volatility, a 96.55% RTP, and a list of features that includes cascading reels, wild symbols, scatters, a Hammer feature and free spins.
The bets will act like they only have 20 lines to cover, and so the minimum amount required is $0.20 per spin. You can give the number of coins and their value a boost, and you end up spending up to $5 per line, and as much as $100 per spin.
When it comes to available rewards, Power of Thor Megaways actually does worse than most other games which are using the same mechanics. 5,000x the stake is the promise, or up to $500,000. Given the high volatility style of the slot, I wanted more out of it. Still, since the RTP is set to a generous 96.55%, I’d say that it’s still worth playing.
The setup is not unusual at all, there are dozens of other popular slots that will do the same thing as Power of Thor Megaways. There are 6 reels present, along with a horizontal game area at the top of reels 2-5. You can have a maximum of 117,649 ways to win each round, while the number of symbols is between 2 and 7 for each column. Land 3 to 6 symbols, leftmost reel to rightmost, and you get paid.
Following any wins that you might be forming, Tumbles (cascading reels) will trigger and help bring new symbols to replace the ones that got you paid.
A golden Wild logo will be used on the horizontal reel from the top, so it has fairly limited use, but it’s still going to assist with the creation of new wins, by combining itself with regular symbols from other reels.
Hammer is the name of a special feature, which will appear on the same horizontal reel from the top of reels 2-5. It takes over two positions there, and then it expands downwards and transforms all other symbols from those reels into extra wilds.
One more feature is in use, with 10 free spins triggered when the scatter symbols land and form the word THOR. If you also get up to 5 extra symbols (9 total), you can get additional free spins. At most, you can trigger 30 free spins. What this feature offers extra, is a progressive multiplier, which increases by 1x after each tumble you trigger. The multiplier is applied to all wins from that round, but it doesn’t carry over to the next spin.
Cartoon-style characters take over many of the symbols you see in this game, with four different warriors showing up in the top paying positions. There are three men and one woman, followed by six Royals which have rune-style decorations on them. Wild logo, Hammers and letter scatters are also in use, as the special symbols.
It’s not a bad game overall, but I’m not too happy with the look of the Royals, they’re much too common and they ruin it a bit for me.
Power of Thor Megaways has a couple of interesting features, adequate graphics, and a high enough RTP that it stands out. However, it also has one of the lowest top jackpots you will see in a Megaways slot with high volatility.
