Master Joker is one of the more unusual releases that you’re likely to ever see from Pragmatic Play. Though a game with the usual number of reels, it manages to innovate when it comes to how many symbols you see from each one, all while keeping a very common Joker theme as inspiration for its story.
You have a single row of symbols, but there are nonetheless the usual 5 reels there, and they have 1 active line formed up. Regular winning combinations are formed, and then you also have a Wheel at the top, which decides what kind of multiplier is applied, plus a Joker which allows you to win anywhere, acting as a substitute and Wheel trigger. Up to 10,000x top prizes are possible in this game, which has the RTP set to a convincing 96.46%.
The wagers you place here, in a game with only 1 payline, can be incredibly low ($0.01), or very high ($100). It all goes towards the same active line, since only one is available.
The game’s able to pay as much as 10,000x the stake of that round, which should mean up to $1,000,000, since the wagers available inside will reach a maximum of $100.
The volatility of this game is High, a 5 out of 5 on Pragmatic’s scale. They kept the RTP at high levels as well, of 96.46%.
It’s clear that the features of Master Joker are anything but typical for a latest slot machine. The use of a single row of symbols means that you only get 1 active line, it’s just not possible to cram more there. There are the usual 5 reels though, so you can still form your combinations the usual way. On the upside, those typical 3+ matching symbols which need to appear next to each other, can do so anywhere on the line. They can show up left to right, right to left, or even in the middle three positions. You still get paid.
The game mentions that it has multipliers as high as 100x to apply, with wins coming from anywhere, provided that the Joker lands on reel 3. This Joker is the game’s wild, so it will be included in any winning combination that’s formed. One of the interesting things about this substitute, is its ability to create a combo both with the first two symbols that land left to right, and with the last two, which go right to left. Two combinations of 3 symbols can be formed with the wild’s help, even though only 5 symbols are on the line.
Whenever this Joker wild is in a combo, a Multiplier Wheel gets triggered as well. 2X to 100x multipliers are chosen through the spin of the Wheel, and they give the round’s prize a boost. This is how the usual 100x top payouts of the slot, can reach 10,000x.
The theme is the classic one, and the Joker is a big indicator of that. Other symbols you find in the game will revolve around Lucky 7s, Gold Bar, Melons, Plums and Cherries. They’re very well designed, but the choice of symbols doesn’t show nearly as much originality as the rest of the game. You have the set of 5 reels at the bottom, while at the top you get a Wheel, which can spin to bring you multipliers.
Master Joker looks like a fun game, quite unusual, but also with great potential and the high volatility that’s expected from such a slot. It looks like it’s going to be fun and enjoyed by players.
