Gears of Horus adds a little bit of the charming mechanical nature of the Cyberpunk genre into an area occupied by Egyptian pyramids and ancient gods. It’s an interesting mix that Pragmatic Play decided to create in this new slot game, and it gives it an advantage over the hundreds of others doing something much more basic with the Ancient Egypt theme.

The game area that loads up will have 6x6 reels, but it’s possible to get the reels to expand up to 8x8. There is a Cluster Pays engine included, and with all that’s offered features-wise, the payouts could go up to 10,000x in that game area. Though highly volatile, the slot also offers an RTP range that can reach 96%. The big features offered include reel expansion, tumbles, random wilds, multipliers, and free spins.

Theme & Design

You do see the pyramids behind the reels, but there are also Cyberpunk elements in the game’s design, particularly in the area to the left and right of the reels. There are cogs and wheels, and representations of pharaohs made of metal. In the Gears of Horus game area, there are some symbols with gemstones, and those have lower value. The top symbols are the ones showing Anubis, the Eye of Ra, Ankh, Lotus, and Horus.

Conclusion

Overall, I love the result and the mix of Ancient Egypt and Cyberpunk-like elements in the design of this slot machine. The features aren’t bad either, and the payouts match the risk profile.
