Fruit Party might be a classic in one area, its chosen theme, but if we go beyond that, and we’re looking at the features, payouts and RTP available, we find that it does a lot of things right. It’s a modern release in more ways than it is a classic, so if you want something exciting to play, this could very well be the right choice, provided that the theme is not an issue for you. A Pragmatic Play release, Fruit Party have the so so graphics around though.
Fruit Party has 7x7 reels, so you’re playing in a big area, and you are using a Cluster Pays system to form combinations. Payouts can be very high, even up to 5,000x the stake, and this is despite the fact that the game is only a Medium in terms of volatility. I like that the RTP is at 96.50%. The list of features includes Tumbling Reels, Random Multipliers of up to 256x, scatters and free spins with multipliers.
You get to bet in Fruit Party, like you would in a slot with 20 active lines. You are allowed to pick up to 10 coins for each of those 20 virtual lines, and to have values of up to $0.50 for each one. That’s how its betting range, which starts from a minimum of $0.20, can reach a maximum of $100 per spin.
With up to 150x the stake paid for the best possible cluster (15+ Strawberry symbols), the game might not sound great initially, but I think you will reconsider once you hear about its multipliers. These can be combined, and there are certain moments when they can get up to 256x (for free spins or from random multipliers). The free spins feature will pay at most 5,000x the stake, and if you reach that kind of payout, the rounds will end early.
In terms of volatility, it looks like a Medium, perhaps a bit on the higher side (about a 7 out of 10 rating). It’s a good reward to be getting at that level, and the RTP of 96.50% is also a plus for it.
The game will form clusters of 5 or more matching symbols, with 15+ required for the best prizes. When clusters form, a Tumble mechanic will trigger, allowing new symbols to replace the ones that got you paid.
The Random Multiplier can apply to all symbols that are part of a win, but it’s random. Each one has a 2x multiplier, if the feature triggers, and when combined you can get up to 256x boosts to your wins.
As for the free spins, having 3 or more scatters gets you 10 rounds, and a chance to retrigger the feature down the line. 2X and 4X multipliers are randomly added in some cases, when clusters are formed. Once again, the highest multiplier is at 256x, but it’s easier to get to that level in this mode.
It’s a big game area, but the symbols shown on the 7x7 reels aren’t very interesting to look at. They’re classics, with rather bland graphics behind them, so they don’t look as good as most Cluster Pays slots we’ve seen lately. The symbols include a scatter, along with strawberries, oranges, apples, grapes, plums, stars and hearts. The cartoon-style background image shows rolling green hills, trees and an apple-shaped house.
Fruit Party has a modern side, which they’ve covered very well, along with a classic theme that’s not implemented in the same way. Dated graphics aside, everything else about this game was enjoyable.
