With about 8 other slot machines using the exact same name, Dragon Tiger is not looking that great initially, as one of the many Chinese themed slot machines available on the market already. Luckily, this Pragmatic Play release looks much better once you get a chance to check out its features and potential, though it’s something that a more experienced player is likely to want to try out.

The exact top payout available is not mentioned, but as a game with high volatility (4.5 out of 5 rating), I’d expect it to get close or over 10,000x the stake. Now, payout wise, there is the potential for very high rewards to come your way. First, each combo with top symbols in it can offer up to 7.5x the stake. That’s good only because there are 1024 ways to win/potential combinations. The best part comes from the free spins though, where combined wild multipliers of up to 15x can give wins a serious boost. There is a cap on how much you can get, possibly at 10,000x or even above it, and it should be enough to convince players that it’s worth checking out.

The first of the two feature symbols incorporated in Dragon Tiger, is the symbol showing you the Gold Dragon. It’s the wild, a replacement for all symbols which can form combinations, but it will land only on the reels 2, 3 or 4. No prizes of its own are offered, but it gains a multiplier once you reach the free spins.
Second, we have a Dragon Tiger logo, the scatter. Capable of appearing once on each of the five reels, it will be needed on 3, 4 or 5 columns, in order to trigger 8, 15 or 20 free spins. It then also delivers a prize of 2x to 20x the stake.
After you get the feature going, landing as few as 2 scatters will retrigger it. 5 to 20 free spins are added to the total then.
The best part about this feature, is the fact that the wild symbol gains a multiplier. It’s a random value, either at 2x, 3x or 5x, and it applies to all wins of that round. With several wilds contributing, the multipliers are added, so you could get up to 15x boosts to your wins.
If we’re looking at the theme of Dragon Tiger, we don’t find anything that’s noteworthy about it. The Chinese theme is the same one that we get everywhere else, the combination of red and gold is also typical, and the symbols are common ones.
For example, the wild symbol takes the form of a Golden Dragon, and the scatter is the game’s logo. Regular symbols range from the top paying White Tiger, to Golden Turtle, Golden Frog, Golden Rabbit and Golden Fish. With the final six symbols on the list, we get back to the basic Royals (9-A).
Dragon Tiger slot from Pragmatic Play does fine in most respects, but that’s mostly due to the features and top payouts which are possible inside. The graphics and story don’t have anything to do with it, and you’re not very likely to be excited about either of those. Furthermore, there is nothing new here, so those looking for more than just a couple of solid features, aren’t likely to get it from this new slot.
