Wild Crusade: Empire Treasures gives us a story that comes from the Middle Ages. The Crusades were awful for a lot of people, those doing the fighting and dying in the name of religion, but there were also some that got rich. It appears that those treasures are the ones that we’re after as well. This Playtech slot has excellent progressive jackpots, and decent graphics, despite the lack of imagination shown with the choice of symbols.

You’re getting 5x4 reels in Wild Crusade: Empire Treasures, and there are 40 active lines there. It’s a slot with progressive jackpots, where the Grand is the one that can make you a millionaire, while the smaller prizes come from the Major, Minor, and Mini variants. They also pay very well, even as much as 2,000 coins for a full combo of 5.

The special wilds are the ones showing you the sword, and a multiplier (1x-5x). They can also form winning combinations of their own, bu they have an additional ability as well. As they land on the last four reels, their appearance will trigger a respin. The triggering special wild’s reel is locked, while others respin. Get more special wilds on the reels 2-5, and additional respins trigger.

These special wilds move towards the left, one position at a time, until they leave the game area. Starting from the second movement, they expand by one position. Once you get the last wild to reel 1, the feature is over.

As for the bonus game that gets you the progressive jackpots, that one triggers at random. The odds are better if you are using a higher wager, but even at lower levels, you can still get in. This is a picking feature, that has you choosing symbols and collecting jackpots, until you fill one of the meters.

Theme & Design

The inspiration may come from the Middle Ages, and from the crusades, but the focus is entirely on the riches that the nobility obtained at the time. It starts with the four card suit icons, made out of precious stones, but with delicate cuts that make them look good. We then get a series of symbols that range from broaches, to pendants, goblets, treasure chests, and crowns.

Conclusion

Wild Crusade, and the Empire Treasures series in general, appears to be something that Playtech has invested a lot of effort in, and I’m sure it has a great future. I like the mix of features here, though the list is not terribly long.
