Lucky U Slot Machine Review

With elements of mysticism, decent top payouts and a low number of lines, Lucky U is a fairly simple video slot overall, but with good graphics. It appears to borrow from the zodiac signs, it uses luck and fortune teller related icons as well, so overall I’m not quite sure what to make of it. It’s a decent design though, in the usual line that Playtech got us used to.

Lucky U has 5x3 reels and it offers 5 fixed lines for every single spin that you go through. It’s not much, and it could result in wins of up to 500x total stake at most, so it’s not a reason to get excited. The 96.05% RTP which they’ve announced for it isn’t that great either, just average these days. You might be more interested in the features that can trigger along the way, including here the wilds, free spins and scatters, a fairly typical mix.

Betting and Prizes

Since you are betting on 5 fixed lines, 5 coins are used for each round’s wager. The denomination of those coins changes between $0.01 and $100, as you’re modifying the amount you spend each round ($0.05 to $500).

As the game’s best combination of five symbols can pay you 100x total stake, or up to $50,000, the total amount that can be paid in a single spin is $250,000 (500x total stake). It’s not an amount that I would consider impressive, not with that kind of wager, since the return is below average.

Despite the low top payouts, the game does have the right RTP, of 96.05%, enough not to make this part a disadvantage for it. The volatility shouldn’t be very high then.

Lucky U Game Features

A Silver Star will be the game’s wild symbol. You get it only on the three reels from the middle (2,3, 4), but once it appears you can have it as part of any winning combination. The fact that only 5 active lines are offered, means that you don’t get as many opportunities to see it in action, compared with other slots.

You might be more excited about the Horseshoe scatters, which can appear several times on each reel. You need a minimum of 6 such symbols, to trigger 5 free spins. You will notice that each Horseshoe symbol has a value written on it. The game adds up all the values from the visible scatters, and then pays that amount to you.

The amount which you got paid as the free spins started will be considered the Repeating Win, for the duration of this feature. Each time that you land a Wild Star on the reels, you receive 1 extra free spin and you also get paid the Repeating Win amount. I love this part, I just wish that you could retrigger the free spins, but the option is not offered, unfortunately.

Theme & Design

It appears to be a luck themed design, though it’s not very visible in its symbols. You do get the lucky horseshoe in a major role here, along with symbols with Silver Stars, gemstones, lions, bulls, Mayan idols or Pyramids. The final few symbols have images of Royals (Q, K and A). It’s a very well designed game, I just wish I better understood what the theme was for it, because it’s not very clear what those symbols are supposed to represent.

Conclusion

Lucky U is a relatively simple game, with a clean design and some easy to understand features. I’m a big fan of the Repeating Win, found in the free spins, it appears to have serious potential.
