In 2020, we’re still looking at classic fruit slots being released by big developers, and Extreme Fruits Ultimate is just the latest example. This one’s available via Playtech, and the slot uses a mix of fruits and Irish icons which should feel familiar to players these days.
Extreme Fruits Ultimate will have the standard 5 reels that you will encounter in most video slots, and with 20 active lines present there. The game promises to offer up to 5,000x top payouts, and will give the player a pretty good reason to try it out, even if he’s not a big fan of its design. Otherwise, I would also mention that the game offers as main features a mix of expanding wilds and scatters, which is not a lot for a modern title.
The wager that you’re picking is going to be designed to cover all 20 lines, which is why you’re being told what the coin value is, when you modify the amount. The smallest possible bet is $0.20, while the highest one is $500. The coin value goes from $0.01 to $25.
Look out for the Shamrock, the four-leaf clover that’s part of many other slots, though usually it’s for Irish titles that it is used. Here, it’s the only non-fruit regular symbol, and it will form combinations which pay as much as 5,000 coins on each line. Fill those reels with Shamrocks and wilds, to get the top payout of 5,000x the stake. Having expanding wilds can be of great help here.
As it happens with a lot of other slot machines which have a more classic theme, the list of features is going to be fairly short and boring. You will find that the wild gets a better role here, but scatters will not deliver any special features, only prizes.
First, let’s check out the Wild symbol, which is shown as a fire logo, and which you can get only on the reels 2, 3 and 4. Should it land on one of those reels, the wild symbol expands to cover the full column it is on. The result is that it now contributes to all 20 lines, as a substitute. Have the rest of the required symbols in place, and a combo can form with the wild in it. The fact that you get wilds on three reels, can mean that a screen full of winning combinations is just a bit more likely to happen.
Second, you will have the Golden Bell, as the slot’s scatter. You will get only prizes from it, 5x, 25x or 100x the stake, for 3, 4 or 5 randomly placed symbols of this type. No features can trigger through them, though in other modern slots you often get free spins or some sort of bonus game.
The part that I disliked most, is the classic fruit theme, combined with a dated design. It’s not the fruit theme by itself that is a problem for me, just the fact that it doesn’t show any imagination from the developer. The same fruit symbols are present here, as in other classic slots. They include strawberries, melons, lemons, plums, oranges, cherries, grapes and bananas. Other symbols will have the Shamrock jackpot symbol, the Wild logo and the Bells Scatter.
Extreme Fruits Ultimate has its excellent top prizes to thank, if there is any interest from players to check it out. I like the expanding wilds as well, but overall it’s not the type of game to offer a lot of features.
