Dragon Bond Slot Machine Review

One of quite a few slots which Playtech has announced for the summer of 2019, Dragon Bond borrows from the legends of Asia, relying on the local dragons for inspiration, as well as on some of the creatures that are found in the region. It’s got the right RTP and several good features, but more on that below.

Dragon Bond will play with 6x4 reels, so you can see that it’s a special game right away. It offers 50 active lines in that above average-sized area, with a top prize of 5,000 coins being available during one of the included features. Betting and Prizes

The bet may be selected for the entire game area, but it does use 50 coins, one for each of the 50 active lines. You start from as little as $0.10 per spin, and you can increase the wager to as much as $500, at which point you’d be using $10 per line.

It’s the bonus game that appears to offer the best prize, of up to 5,000 coins, which with the right wager could turn into a jackpot of $50,000 cash. The same amount, of 100x total stake, can be paid by the slot’s scatters, right before they trigger the free spins. It’s not the most impressive payout around, but since the game mentions a 96.86% RTP, the experience shouldn’t be as bad as it sounds based on its rewards. The volatility appears to be quite low, and in fact I’ve had a lot of winning spins while playing it, though mostly of relatively low value.

Dragon Bond Game Features

One of the features that will trigger quite often, the Dragon Wild is often present on the reels and it helps out in several ways. It can be a typical substitute, of course, but it also creates winning combinations by itself. On its own, it pays up to 20x for 6 symbols.

Wild Connect is a feature which requires 2+ wilds to be on the same row, even if they’re not next to each other. The symbols found between the two positions will be transformed into extra wilds for that round.

The Temple Fish scatter will have to show up on adjacent reels, which start from the 1st one, in order for their feature to trigger. You need it on 3+ reels, and besides paying up to 100x total stake, it also triggers 10 to 50 free spins.

As for Dragon Bonus, the feature requires for the Dragon Wild to cover all 24 positions available, at which point you’d win 5,000 coins.

Theme & Design

It’s a dragon themed game, with a very clear Asian feel to it. The game features the usual Chinese temple as support, there are beautiful views of a bay in the background, while the reels appear to borrow both from mythology and from the region’s wildlife. Besides the Dragon and Temple icons, you have fish, turtles, frogs, lotus flowers and butterflies. As lower symbols, they chose to use Royals.

Conclusion

Dragon Bond has that interesting Wild Connect feature, and it appears to be a game of low volatility and above average RTP, which should keep a player busy enough. It’s not the type to make you rich, but not all players want a high risk slot machine to play on.
