If you’re the type of player that loves classic slot machines, then Ruby Sevens should be just the game for you. Released by Edict, and designed by Merkur, this is a classic not just when it comes to its fruit symbols, but also gameplay wise. There is little to make the action more interesting in the long run, but its simple nature isn’t a downside for everyone.
Ruby Sevens has a standard game area, 5x3 reels being offered, and only 5 active lines for your combinations. It’s got decent potential, 1,000x the stake being paid at most in a single spin, and you only need one combo to get it. Its RTP is fine as well, at 96.15%. If you’re looking for special features, you might be disappointed, because a regular wild is all you get.
Click on the Bet value, at the bottom, and you will get a small menu with several wagers to choose from. The smallest one is $0.05 ($0.01 per line), while the highest is $10 ($2 per line).
Ruby Sevens can pay at most 1,000x the stake, and to win that much you just need a combo of five Sevens forming on an active line. The next best symbols offer at mos 100x the stake per line (500x if they cover all lines).
It’s not the type of slot machine to take its jackpots to extremes, there are modern games which do a much better job in that. Still, with its RTP at 96.15%, it’s considered a fair option, and it’s about as risky to play as any other modern release.
Don’t count on getting a lot of special features from Ruby Sevens. Merkur has kept its focus on simple graphics and as few extras as possible, so it really does remind us of slots from a few decades ago.
There is only one actual feature symbol being used, and that’s the wild, showing the four leaf clover with the game logo in front. As expected, you can use these wilds in new combinations, where they act as substitutes for whatever symbols you need in its current location. Unfortunately, it’s not very advanced even then, as you only get these symbols on the reels 2, 3, and 4.
It’s been designed for the players that still love a good classic, and so you’re not going to find interesting themes or stories, nor advanced graphics. It’s going to place a red background image behind the reels. The symbols are placed on black backgrounds. As for the design quality, I’d say it’s below average, though not unusual for the classic category.
The four lowest paying symbols give us the J to A Royals, and their combinations pay up to 20x the stake. Next, we have three fruits, medium symbols that pay up to 40x the stake, showing the Plum, Orange, and Lemon. The premium symbols are the Watermelon and the Grape, and their combinations pay up to 100x the stake. The Red Seven pays the most, 1,000x the stake for a combo, while the game logo is being used for the wild.
Ruby Sevens is a fine option, for someone that wants a classic slot machine, while keeping the excellent RTP of a modern game. Otherwise, it’s got the graphics and features of an older game, so it’s not fun for everyone.
