The typical slot machine from Merkur which will use the image of a princess, will either place the action in the past (Middle Ages or some ancient civilization) or in the fantasy genre. What Forbidden Princess does though, is use the same type of main character, but on an alien planet and in a science fiction influenced setting. It’s Merkur’s release, and it looks like they’re trying something different here, which is to be appreciated.
Forbidden Princess features 5 reels, gets 20 active lines, and you should expect a slot machine which pays up to 1,000x the stake, has high volatility and a 96% RTP. Nonetheless, it does a decent job through its features, the best of which are getting you access to scatters, free spins, bonus games and stacked wilds.
Since you’re playing with 20 active lines, Forbidden Princess will require the use of 20 coins. No worries though, it’s not going to be expensive. Denominations as low as $0.01 are available to be used, while at the upper limit you’re only getting $1 coins. The resulting bets go from $0.20 to $20 per spin.
For the top payout of Forbidden Princess, look out for the symbols which have the Princess herself, and hope that they will show up on the same active line, taking it over completely. Get a screen filled with such symbols, and possibly with wilds assisting, and a reward of 1,000x the stake is a possibility. This could mean $20,000 cash, at most.
Also to be mentioned about Forbidden Princess, is that it offers fairly high volatility, while keeping a 96% RTP which should make most players happy.
Among the features that Forbidden Princess has implemented, let’s check out the Wild first, the one showing off a blue orb and its own logo at the bottom, making it quite easy to spot. Landing stacked on the reels, it’s going to be able to assist with the formation of other wins, though only if we’re talking about regular symbols.
The City of the future which is seen in one of the symbols, is going to act as the scatter symbol. Three can land on the reels at the same time, and if this happens, you get 10 free spins as a reward.
Finally, there is also a bonus game, which requires its own symbol landing and covering the 1st reel completely. The image of that bonus symbol is that of the Rocket.
It’s a science fiction themed game by the looks of it, but the developers still chose the jungle princess look for its main character. She’s half-naked, with ornate decorations on her head and body, and holding some kind of spear in her hand. On the other hand, you also get futuristic cities in some symbols, along with orbs, books, bracelets, a compass, handguns and the usual Royals. It’s a confusing design, not quite sure what kind of story it’s telling, but at least it’s different from every other princess themed game that you will find out there.
There is room for improvement, if we’re looking at the design of Forbidden Princess. However, taking all features and figures into account, I think it’s an adequate online slot, one which would be enjoyable if you gave it a chance.
