Gemstone-themed slot machines are a dime a dozen, easy to find at a lot of different developers, and generally not scoring points in the design department. Clash of Gems doesn’t do anything to stand out, it’s just a common game with a mix of gemstones and card suits present on its reels. This is a Merkur release.
Clash of Gems has plenty of game area available, 5x4 reels are spinning, but you will only get 10 active lines from it. Even with that setup, you can still get paid 5,000x the stake after one spin, and in the long run, they’re expecting a 96% RTP. The major features that should be mentioned include regular or multiplier wilds, along with Gempot symbols that can trigger the slot’s biggest jackpots.

With the 5,000x Maxi Jackpot, the returns of the game could mean up to $50,000 cash paid. It’s the Gempot feature that pays that much. Regular combinations are disappointing though, paying up to 20x per line (200x total), and the multiplier wilds don’t do that much to improve them.

Wild symbols are present on the reels of Clash of Gems, and they have an extra ability that they will implement whenever they show up. The wilds transform all symbols that are below them, turning them into extra wilds. If they show up at the bottom, then they expand either left or right.
Sometimes, you may get wilds that expand downwards, while others on adjacent reels are at the bottom and they’re doing the same thing sideways. This can get you overlapping wilds, in which case those positions gain a 2x multiplier (wins that include them are doubled).
The top prize comes from the Gempot symbol, which has to land on the reels a certain number of times. You claim the Mini Jackpot (100x) when you have 3 Gempot symbols, while with 4 symbols you get the Major variant (500x). The Maxi Jackpot is worth 5,000x the stake and you need 5 Gempot symbols to claim it. These symbols need to land left to right, on adjacent reels.
It’s far from impressive, where the theme and design are concerned. It’s a gemstone-inspired theme, so you get them in the shape of the four card suits at first, along with three gemstones (yellow, red, and blue), a Seven (made of the same material), and the Gempot.
Clash of Gems pays well, but only if you can get the Gempot symbols to land enough times. The wild features are also interesting, but the regular combinations pay too little.
