Ankaa’s Dawn is a new Merkur release, and a slot machine where a young woman archer is in the main role. We have a medieval style group of symbols on the reels, and yet the background is showing off the skyscrapers of a modern city, so it’s an unusual mix. Not the type of game to pay a huge amount, but they’ve worked in an interesting feature, and that could prove to be quite exciting when triggered.

At first, the features of Ankaa’s Dawn will not seem like they’re impressive, since the mix of wilds and free spins is way too common in slots. Merkur made sure to change things a bit though, and so you still end up being interested in the game, particularly if you reach the free spins.
First, a word about the simple wild, a feature symbol that you can get as you play the game, to use as a substitute if it lands in the position where you need it.

Ankaa’s Dawn doesn’t have a very clear theme, as far as I’m concerned. There are Royals in some of its symbols, along with blueberries, archery targets, paper scrolls, some kind of magic potion, pink crystals, the woman archer, a wild and the Bonus ball with metal spikes on it. It looks medieval and fantasy themed on the reels, and yet in the background you find the skyscrapers of a modern city. As confusing as the story of the slot may be, the quality of the design is pretty good.
Ankaa’s Dawn might not have a great story to tell, but I enjoyed its free spins feature, and for a player that is into lower volatility content, it could work well for a while.
