Golden Goddess Mega Jackpots is a game that’s offered by IGT, and it’s the version that has a progressive jackpot attached, hence the Mega Jackpots part of the title. A regular version of the game has also been released by the company, but the Mega Jackpots one is the newer slot. The theme of the game is based on Ancient Greece and on Aphrodite, one of the most famous characters of their pantheon.
In Golden Goddess, you’re going to work with 40 active win lines, spread over 5 reels. It’s a game that will pay up to 1,000x with its regular combinations, but the real prize here is the progressive jackpot that it comes with. Features wise, the game relies on wild symbols, scatters, Super Stacks and free spins.
Betting and Prizes
You will have 40 coins in your wagers, that being the part that’s not negotiable. You can vary the coin value though, and the range there is between $0.01 and $30, so you have enough to work with and you can get to a value that you are comfortable using for more than a couple of spins. The full betting range of the game is between $0.40 and $1,200.
Prizes in the game aren’t very high if you’re looking at the regular jackpot alone, which will pay at most 1,000 coins ($30,000 cash). The progressive jackpot does give you a very good reason to play the slot though, and it could have a considerably higher value. The disappointing side is related to the average RTP, which for this game is announced at just 91.01%.
Golden Goddess Slot Features
You will have the Golden Goddess Wild, as one of the symbols that you’re going to rely on often. This symbol brings you the best fixed payouts available in the game, of up to 1,000 coins, when forming a combination of five symbols of the same type. More often than not, the wild is only going to be used as a substitute though, appearing just once or twice usually, and participating in various winning combinations that are formed on the paylines that it is present on. Naturally, you shouldn’t expect a wild to be a replacement symbol for a scatter or any other feature trigger.
An interesting feature that you don’t see in slots usually is the one called Super Stacks. This can trigger at any moment, and it transforms symbols into stacked versions. This can happen for wilds and Mega Jackpots symbols as well, but it doesn’t occur for scatters.
Activating the free spins feature is a matter of getting the three full middle reels occupied by Red Rose scatters. 7 free spins would be granted to the player in that case. There will be one icon chosen at random, to be used as a transforming symbol. The transforming symbol will be turned into the MegaJackpots icon whenever it appears.
To get the progressive jackpot, you need all 15 positions to be occupied by the MegaJackpots symbols.
Theme & Design
It’s a theme that is based on the gods of Ancient Greece, and on the beautiful Aphrodite in particular. I’ve never been impressed with the graphics of the IGT slots, most of them anyway, and this one isn’t very different. Among its symbols, there will be images of the goddess, of a man, doves, winged horses and plenty of poker cards.
The Mega Jackpots version of Golden Goddess can give you an excellent target that you could play for, and the features are at least OK. The one that I’m not impressed with is the quality of the design, but that shouldn’t matter as much as the payout does.
