Fate of Fortune will be one of the new games that we’re expecting to see from ELK Studios in 2021. Scheduled for release during the summer months, it’s likely going to be just as detailed and fun to play as most of the slot machines that we’ve seen this company release. Theme-wise, it’s apparently inspired by the Morai, or the Fates, that the legends of Ancient Greece mention.
You’re seeing a slot machine that offers 5 reels of different sizes (5-3-1-3-5 symbols), and a total of 81 ways to win. What you’re looking at, is a 10,000x top jackpot, though this is coupled with high volatility and a low RTP of only 95%. On the list of special features, they added a wild symbol that can expand, mystery symbols, scatters, free spins, and several modifiers that will trigger randomly.
Wagers of $0.20 to $100 are allowed in Fate of Fortune, using 100 coins.
Payouts can go up to 10,000x the stake. Don’t celebrate yet, it’s a slot with a 95% RTP and high volatility.
It’s a fairly long list of special features that one can expect in Fate of Fortune, which is always nice to see.
Wilds are going to show up on two out of five reels, the 2nd, and the 4th ones. They expand towards the 1st and 5th reels, respectively, so they transform symbols on the same row.
Mystery symbols are also going to land on the first two and last two reels. All its instances will transform into a single type of symbol.
Randomly, as the game is played, modifiers can be triggered through the Crystal Ball. The Fortune’s Favor feature includes options like the Lady Swap (turns all Lady symbols into the chosen one), Multipliers (pays up to 50x more than it would’ve been possible otherwise), Walking Wilds (splits and goes from the 3rd reel, towards the 2nd and 4th reels, giving you respins until it leaves the game area), and Locked Wilds (sticky wild on reel 3, with an increasing multiplier that goes up until by 1x until you get a winning combo).
And, for the finale, we have the free spins, triggered through scatter symbols that can land on reels 1, 2, 4, and 5. With 3 or 4 triggering scatters, you get either 1 or 2 mystery stacks on the reels. These stacks are nudged downwards, one position at a time, boosting the multiplier in each case by 1x. If additional mystery symbols appear, they will also move downwards. Once all mystery symbols have left the game area, the feature ends.
It looks like a game that’s inspired by the mythology of the ancients, perhaps coming from the legends of the Nords, if we go by the design in the background. The Fates are beautiful women and the premium symbols, with hair colored in blue, red, or green. Rune-like Royals are also used, as are several feature symbols (Bonus and W logos).
Fate of Fortune looks fine, and has an excellent mix of features, but its low RTP manages to ruin its potential. I’d stay away from it, and the same goes for most of ELK’s new slots that use a similar RTP.
