Pharaoh's Dream, which comes via Bally, is not a unique game, at least if we go by the kind of story that it’s telling. With an Ancient Egypt theme, the game mostly tries to use features to make the action interesting, and to a point it succeeds.

You will play via 5x4 reels, where you will get 40 active lines. You are limited when it comes to potential payouts, to $250,000, while the game promises to pay up to 500x total stake. There will be the usual wilds, scatters, free spins with stacked sticky wilds, so all the usual major options, which can prove to be quite interesting. Ultimately, the game promises to have a long-term RTP of 95.91%, not quite a figure that would prove inviting, though if you like everything else about the game, it will not stop you from trying it out either.

Betting and Prizes

In order to cover 40 active paylines, Pharaoh's Dream will ask that you use 50 coins. You then proceed to select a total bet for those 40 lines, and its range will be $0.50 to $500. This allows for the coin value to be from $0.01 to $10.

With 500x top payouts possible, via Pyramid or Eye of Ra symbols forming combinations, the game is going to pay at most $250,000 in a single spin. The presence of the sticky wilds during free spins, makes this just a bit more likely to happen, so the game has that going for it.

Going beyond the average top payouts, the RTP isn’t doing any better. Set at 95.91%, it’s smaller than what you get from a lot of other slots, but it’s not a huge difference between them.

Pharaoh's Dream Slot Features

The Pyramids symbols will be the ones acting as the wilds in this game. You have them acting as replacements in new combinations, and that should be the thing that you see happen most often with them. Sometimes though, you might get these Wild Pyramids to also create combinations among themselves, which is great, since this is one of the two jackpot symbols, paying up to 500x per combo. As is usually the case, the wild doesn’t act as a replacement for a scatter, only for a regular symbol.

Another symbol that you will find useful, the scatter is shown as the Sphinx. Appearing on the reels 1, 3 and 5, the requirement is to have all three present in a single round, and if that happens the game gives you access to 10 free spins, and then pays 4x total stake as a way to get you started.

While going through the free spins, you may get stacked wild symbols, which will become sticky in their column, provided that they cover all four positions of the reel. The last four reels are the ones on which you can get these stacked wilds.

Theme & Design

It’s not much of a theme, unfortunately, as Bally decided to go with an Ancient Egypt inspired story. The most common modern theme of all, it has us looking at symbols with pyramids, the Sphinx, Eye of Ra, Horus, Ankh and six ugly Royals, ranging from 9 to A. The design style is as uninspired and boring as the theme they chose here, so overall I’d say it’s below average, for the very crowded Ancient Egypt category.

Conclusion

Pharaoh's Dream doesn’t have all that much to make us like it, aside maybe for some of its features, mostly once you reach the free spins. Otherwise, it’s got dated graphics, a low RTP and the measly 500x top payouts.
