BountyPop Slot Machine Review

A brand new slot game is coming out from Yggdrasil's YGS Masters program, and in this case, it's a new AvatarUX title, from the PopWins series. It's called BountyPop and it's one more noteworthy slot machine on their platform, which should prove interesting for most players. Big winning potential is not that uncommon these days, but one should still be impressed with rewards of up to 55,000x, of the kind we see here as well. Otherwise, it’s a slot machine with a pirate theme and excellent graphics, an additional reason to like what it offers.

BountyPop gives you 486 ways to win on 5x3 reels initially, where it pays both ways. At times, there is the potential to get up to 59,049 ways though, and the results can be truly impressive when it comes to rewards, with a cap placed at 55,000x the stake for a single round. You get a slot with a Mystery Wheel and up to 100x multipliers, with free games and expanding reels. The slot’s volatility is high, but it has a 96% RTP as well, so it’s fair if you look at its average results.

BountyPop Betting and Prizes

It’s a fairly limited betting range, of $0.20 to $20, but it’s normal for slot machines that have high volatility since they need to keep the potential payouts in check.

The entire PopWins series is great if you want slot machines with big payouts, and BountyPop fits in perfectly with the rest. Wins of up to 55,000x the stake are a possibility, though they’re going to be capped there, as the game would offer even more otherwise.

You do risk more than in the average slot machine when you’re going for slots that can pay this well, because more players need to lose before one can get that kind of reward. It’s got high volatility, but also the right RTP at 96%, so long-term it would be considered fair (the casino doesn’t profit more in the long run, than from a less volatile slot).

BountyPop Game Features

PopWins is the name of a mechanic available in a couple of Yggdrasil slots, which allows winning symbols to pop and expand by adding more symbols to that reel. Since there are more new symbols, on a minimum of 3 reels, you get more ways to win as well. The game area expands up to 7,776 ways to win during regular spins and up to 59,049 ways for the free rounds.

If you land 3 to 5 scatters in a single round, you gain access to 6 to 12 free games. The difference is that the reels can expand more than in the base game, with as many as 9 symbols available per reel, and this is what allows the game area to get even bigger.

Another advantage is that the reels go down by one position when you go through a round without wins, rather than collapse completely.

A Mystery Wheel is also possible, and it’s just as impressive as the rest of the features. You can get the Base Wheel when you max out all reels in the base game, and there are multipliers of up to 5x in the outer ring, or up to 10x in the inner one. The multiplier will be used on all wins obtained that round, where you kept winning in order to get the reel size to the max.

If you get 7, 8 or 9 symbols on all reels during free spins, then the wheels come in another three versions:

Bronze Wheel: same as the base Wheel, with up to 10x multipliers.
Silver Wheel: outer reel has an up to 7x multiplier, inner reel up to 10x.
Gold Wheel: up to 10x on the outer wheel, and up to 100x if you get to the inner wheel.

It’s absolutely impressive the kind of potential that the game can have while using these multipliers.

Theme & Design

Armed mostly with swords and bombs, the pirates you see in BountyPop don’t seem all that different from those available in other games. The design quality is at a whole other level though, and it’s one of the modern options from this category.

Its symbols include the Royals initially, that’s something we can’t avoid, unfortunately, but then you get to the main characters, which will be showing you the various pirates and their weapons of choice.

Conclusion

BountyPop is another very impressive release, a slot machine that has awesome potential, loads of big features, and huge multipliers. I do think that the PopWins mechanic will be a success, but it has a lot of competition from other developers. So far though, I enjoyed seeing how AvatarUX made it shine in slots that include other cool features as well.
