Part of the Quad Shot collection, and released at the same time as Big Thunder, Island Princess is available at online casinos which have Ainsworth slot machines. The theme is simple, it’s going to be a game that uses the tropical island theme, with the main character being a beautiful woman, a princess of the region.
Moving back to what is being offered in the game, you have a slot machine that can pay fixed jackpots via the Quad Shot Bonus, reaching $10,000 in the best-case scenario. The exact same top payout is available via the reels and the best combinations are offered inside. Wild symbols, scatters and free spins are all used, and they try their best to make the game more interesting. The game’s setup has 5 reels with 25 fixed lines.
It doesn’t get very expensive, as the betting range is only going to go from $1.25 to $25. Some may find the $1.25 starting point a bit expensive compared with other slots that people may play just for fun, but it uses only $0.05 per active line. The maximum bet, of $25, will place $1 per line.
Now, if you look at the game’s prizes, chances are that you’re actually going to be fairly disappointed. The slot pays only 400x the stake in the best-case scenario, and you get that maximum amount of $10,000 both from the Major Jackpot and form the winning combinations formed on all the lines at the same time.
The RTP isn’t looking any better either, set up at 94.33%, while I’d want it to be at 96% or higher in order to consider it a good figure.
I’ve seen more interesting slot machines in the Quad Shot series, and as you will notice yourself, Island Princess doesn’t offer much.
For starters, you get the Princess Wild, the symbol which you will be able to include in other types of combinations, being placed next to regulars and behaving as them to form wins. The downside is that you see it only on the last three reels, so it’s not useful all the time, even if it appears. Smaller wins will often not be able to make use of the symbols from the 5th reel for example.
The Coin Scatter is the other major symbol you’re going to see among the features. Having three Coins or more will trigger 8 free spins. At that point, you get the Princess on the middle three reels, while the Coin is only on reels 1 and 5. You trigger 3 extra spins with 2 scatters, while also giving you more Princess Wilds. The paytable that’s used is also different, and the potential of the game reaches its maximum level here.
The Quad Shot Bonus involves a 6th reel, on which you’re going to see the feature’s logo appear. Have a winning combo of five symbols form on the main reels, plus the Quad Shot in place on the 6th reel, to get a fixed jackpot.
The theme has the potential to look great if it’s well designed, being inspired by a tropical island and jungle which should have plenty of things to show you. You get the Princess, Gold Coins, Mayan-style pyramids, gems, jungle cats, parrots, and huge snakes, these being your best symbols. Six very basic-looking Royals will be your lowest ones.
I think you don’t get enough from Island Princess to make it worth your time and money. It’s got a few good features, a low RTP, and a small jackpot.
