The latest release from Ainsworth is Enchanted Eyes, a slot machine that aims to offer some decent-sized rewards, though with the RTP being the weak point, something we can see immediately.
Enchanted Eyes: Big Hit Bonanza will deliver 5 reels and a total of 25 paylines. With them, you could go after payouts of up to $16,000, or maybe trigger the Grand Jackpot, which is worth $30,000. For the list of major features, Ainsworth chose to rely on the Princess Wild, on scatters, free spins, and bonus games which could end up paying big.
You select the wager for the round, and that’s pretty much it. The range starts at a minimum of $1 and may reach a maximum of $40. The paytable then displays the exact amount you can win with the current wager, so there is no calculation needed to find out what the game’s potential is like.
During its free spins, the Enchanted Eyes will offer wins of up to 16x the stake, and since we have 25 lines, it could end up delivering up to 400x the stake in one round. This means rewards of up to $16,000, via its regular symbols. There is a better alternative, the Grand Jackpot, which is valued at $30,000.
In other areas, Enchanted Eyes isn’t doing that well. The RTP mentioned in its case is set to 94.31%, which is considerably lower than the industry average for new slots, and it doesn’t give it any chances to compete with better-looking games, which pay more in the long run.
The Princess shows her eyes in the substitute, a symbol that you can see on the last four reels only. From there, the wild can contribute to other wins, but she doesn’t offer anything directly.
The scatters can appear quite a few times, more than one per reel, so you need a minimum of 6 visible in order to get to the Big Hit bonus. This one comes with 3 respins, where the original scatters get locked and new ones get the same treatment. From each such symbol that you collect, wins of up to 50x the stake are awarded. If you manage to get all the symbols replaced with these scatters, then the Grand Jackpot is paid out, and it’s worth $30,000.
As a bonus, the scatters I’ve mentioned above will also take the Free Spins meter a bit higher. Once the Big Hit is over, you can start playing through the free spins that you’ve accumulated. The free spins can trigger the smaller bonuses, ranging from Mini to Major when you get Princess bonus icons to appear enough times.
Extra Bonus Big Hit is a random feature, which adds a 3x3 scatter symbol to the middle columns. Respins and payouts of up to 50x the stake are offered, the same as in the other version of the feature.
Since this is a game with an Ancient Egypt inspiration, I wasn’t overly impressed with the way it looks. It’s also Ainsworth in the role of the designer, and they’re notoriously bad at crafting modern-looking slots. Expect to find the classic Ancient Egyptian look, with images of scarabs, flowers, and other similar icons, but also of Royals.
Enchanted Eyes: Big Hit Bonanza is not that great of a game, not when it comes to the RTP, and not theme or graphics-wise. About the only thing that saves it, would be the feature list, which is somewhat unique.
