Neptunes Quest Slot Review
|Betting Range (€/$)||0.50 - 250|
With a focus on the world of Neptune, the god of the seas, this WMS slot game gives us awesome graphics in the background, several interesting symbols on the reels and a type of layout which you’re not going to see too often.
Neptune’s Quest will deliver a total of 5 reels, but they’re split into about three different zones, ranging from 2 symbols to 6 symbols per column. A total of 100 active lines are provided for this unusual game area. With an ultimate win of $125,000 which can be triggered by forming all available combinations at the same time, it’s also going to have wilds, scatters, free spins and expanding wilds.
Betting and Prizes
There are 100 lines provided in that game area, but the slot will have you use only 50 coins in your bets. Each coin will cover 2 active lines, and so the total range of the bets will be between $0.50 and $250. This is for a coin value of $0.01 to $5.
While the individual wins of this slot aren’t that high, paying $1,250 at most, you do get 100 lines for them to form on and expanding wilds as well, so the maximum jackpot of $125,000 (500x the stake) doesn’t seem out of reach. If you look at the RTP as well, which they’ve set up at 96.39%, I think that you have sufficient reasons to be optimistic.
Neptune’s Quest Slot Features
First, it should be explained the way the game works. The first two reels are actually split into two different zones, of four symbols each. The game says that it counts those eight individual positions as individual reels, and numbers them 1 to 8. Three large reels, of 6 symbols each, are numbered 9 to 11, and they are the equivalent of reels 3 to 5 in other slots. You form your winning combinations the same as in every other game though, with matching symbols on three or more columns, starting from the left.
The Octopus Wilds are among the symbols capable of paying the big prize, should they end up on five positions on just as many reels. You get them as substitutes as well, and as expected they work only when placed alongside regular symbols. They have no influence on the scatter symbols.
Speaking of scatters, Neptune’s world is visible in these symbols, which you’re going to have only on the last three reels, the big ones.
Access to the free spins can be obtained in a couple of ways. You can do it with three scatters on the reels, or you could get four matching symbols on at least one set of reels (1-4 or 5-8). This gets you 5 free spins. If you get both requirements met at the same time, you win 20 free spins, plus a payout of 100x the stake.
Expanding Wilds are going to be available on the last three reels, but only for the duration of the free games.
Theme & Design
Design wise, I found that the connection to Neptune’s world helps the game a lot. The symbols are quite well designed and enjoyable, showing you an underwater city, a huge octopus, Neptune, a Mermaid, a Water Bull, Trident, Fish, Shells and Starfish. Lastly, there are the Royals as well, though there was no customization done to them, so they’re not interesting at all. The background is excellent, showing us a closer look at this underwater city.
I enjoyed a lot of what Neptune’s Quest has to offer, even the graphics, despite the fact that it’s a WMS release.
