After another Burning release just a few months prior, Wazdan is preparing another slot that features similar graphics. They’ve included both the Hold the Jackpot mechanic, and the one called Sticky to Infinity™. Expect the features to be fun at least, even if the graphics don’t impress.
Burning Sun™ is a new slot game with only a 4x4 layout, and it uses a Pay Anywhere engine that needs 10+ matching symbols to pay. It has mechanics such as Sticky to Infinity™, wilds, or Hold the Jackpot re-spins, and with their help, it can deliver a jackpot of 5,000x the bet. The volatility changes according to the player’s wishes, and the RTP is 96.19%.
Wazdan’s typical betting range for many of its slot machines will allow players to spend between $0.10 and $100 for a single round.
In exchange, it can deliver a jackpot of up to 5,000x the stake, where it uses the re-spins to get you that high. The regular wins don’t come near that level though, with a 200x payout offered for 16 top symbols covering the reels.
Burning Sun™ lets you select one of three possible volatility levels, a typical Wazdan mechanic. The RTP stays fixed, at 96.19%.
First of all, let’s see how the Pay Anywhere system works. It simply requires that you get 10 to 16 matching symbols anywhere on the 4x4 grid available. You’re paid accordingly, with top-paying symbols in larger numbers providing the bigger wins.
There is going to be a wild symbol, and you will have its assistance when it lands. It’s acting as a substitute for any of the regular symbols.
Sticky to Infinity™ can be randomly added to the reels, through special symbols, both for regular spins and re-spins. You will find Mystery or Jackpot Mystery symbols that carry this feature.
When 6+ of those mystery symbols appear at the same time, you get access to Hold the Jackpot. If you get only 4 or 5, then they’re sticky for one round, in case you get the rest of the symbols required.
It consists of 3 re-spins, and you get the triggering bonus symbols on the reels while trying to land new ones. The re-spins reset if you manage to get new symbols. Each bonus symbol can give you a smaller fixed jackpot, or a cash prize of up to 15x. There are also Collector symbols that may land and accumulate prizes, after which they will multiply the value by up to 20x.
The 5,000x jackpot is claimed if all 16 positions are covered by bonus symbols.
It’s a fire theme, so all symbols seem to include this element. There are the Royals from 9 to A, plus the Burning Star, the top-paying Seven, a Wild logo, and several bonus symbols. Not an impressive design, but that’s not unusual.
Burning Sun™ demo has a pretty good collection of features, in a package that’s not standard these days. The Pay Anywhere engine works well, but I would’ve liked a bigger game area for it.
