Book of Ba: The Secret of the Netherworld Slot
Play 🎰 Book of Ba: The Secret of the Netherworld Slot Now
It’s not much of a surprise, given the title of this slot, but you will find that Book of Ba: The Secret of the Netherworld borrows certain elements from the Book of Ra category, the one already sporting dozens of clones. Tom Horn Gaming is trying a version for it as well, but they’re doing it their own way, which is to be appreciated, even with all the things that they’re copying.
The slot’s setup has 5x3 reels, where there will be 9 active paylines for you to use. It’s a slot with high volatility, and yet it offers at most 500x the stake per spin, which is a bit low. It keeps the RTP at 96% though. Along the way, this game has a Shatter mode, free spins, up to 4x multipliers, so a couple of features that will make the action interesting.
Betting and Prizes
In this game, you will find that your bets don’t seem to take into account the number of lines. With 9 lines active, you get to pick the total amount for the next spin. It’s a range which begins from a minimum of $0.50 per spin, and can reach a maximum value of $100.
The most that Book of Ba appears capable of paying, 500x the stake, is on the low side for the Book of Ra genre, which is known for its 5,000x payouts. The volatility is the same one as well, High, but they managed to keep the Return to Player at a healthy 96%. I’m not a big fan of that low top payout, at least for a slot with high volatility, but it all seems to work out eventually.
Book of Ba: The Secret of the Netherworld Slot Features
One of the most common features that the game relies on, a Shatter Mode will be deployed whenever the player gets a winning combination, on one of the 9 paylines. As the symbols involved shatter, you are given a new set of symbols in the empty positions, and that could end up triggering more wins. You can go through up to 4 shatter rounds, with multipliers going up by 1x each time, up to 4x. Other slots don’t have a limit on the number of times that this feature will trigger, but they don’t have multipliers either.
The Book symbol will be acting as a scatter here. Landing it three times in view will get you 10 free spins, with a chance to retrigger them being available as well. In typical Book-slot fashion, the game picks a special symbol and gives it the ability to expand, so that it will cover the reel. You start off with a 1x multiplier, but you can get up to a 4x boost to your wins.
Theme & Design
Another thing that’s typical for the Book-style category, would be the Ancient Egypt theme. It’s found in most games, with some variations. Here, we’re looking at a book dedicated to the god of the underworld, while in others it might be Ra, Horus, and so on. The symbols have images of the Book, Cleopatra, Eye of Ra, Ankh, Scarab and Royals. The location of the action is deep inside of some sort of tomb. You see large statues of the gods to the sides, and chests filled with gold coins in their vicinity. It’s not a bad design overall, but if you look at what’s available from the Ancient Egypt category, it might not be enough to make it interesting.
Book of Ba: The Secret of the Netherworld is a game which tries to put a bigger focus on multipliers and features than other slots do, while reducing the top payouts which can are available. It’s worth checking out, as an alternative to the Book of Ra clones.
