Sun Wind Slot Machine Review

Sun Wind is Swintt’s slot machine, and it looks like their version of a Book-style game. Relying on the same Ancient Egypt theme as everyone else, with rather low-quality graphics, the game still manages to do something interesting, and it offers some extra features compared with everyone else. The use of fewer lines is a downside though, even as the top rewards tend to stay the same.

You are playing with only 5 active lines in Sun Wind, and you use the standard 5x3 reels for them. The game’s potential is pretty good, with up to 5,000x the stake paid in a single spin, but you’re also going to find that it is a slot with a 94.51% RTP. There are a couple of feature symbols, wilds and scatters, along with free spins that get Lucky Symbols, and a Sun feature.

Since only 5 active lines are used, you can spend only $0.05, and still play the game. The bets can be taken all the way up to $100 for a single spin though.

Sun Wind Game Features

Sun Wind’s most common feature comes in the form of the mixed scatter/wild, and the feature it can bring you. Since you’re using it in two roles, the wild can be a substitute for regular combinations, while as a scatter you just need it landing 3 to 5 times in a single spin. As you get it only once per reel, and with only 5 lines present, it doesn’t help all that much as a wild.

If you can get the 10 feature games (free spins), then you will have a Lucky Symbol active for their duration, and it’s picked at random. The Lucky Symbol gains the ability to expand on their reels. If you can get Lucky Symbols on 3+ reels, they expand and they get you paid on all active lines, even if the reels are not adjacent.

Theme & Design

It’s a very common theme, revolving around Ancient Egypt, and the symbols shown aren’t any better. It’s a dated design, especially in this crowded category, using symbols with the Sun, Eye of Ra, Pharaoh, Cleopatra, Horus, Scythe, and 10 to A Royals.

Conclusion

Overall, it’s definitely a slot that could’ve been better. The Book category is crowded, and while Sun Wind does innovate in some areas, its low RTP makes it an unlikely choice for most players.
