Diamond Staxx makes a promise that we’re sure it will keep, delivering a diamond/gemstone-themed design. Stakelogic is the company behind this release, and this is a creator of slot machines with all the experience required to make even the dullest theme interesting. The MultiPays engine is the one that stands out in this case.
Diamond Staxx has 5x3 reels and only 10 lines. Despite the lower number of wins, the MultiPays engine manages to improve the odds of getting paid well. A top prize of 1,400x the bet is about the best it will do, but the medium-high volatility isn’t terrible either. The RTP range has a 96.24% setting that I would suggest you aim for.
The typical betting range of Diamond Staxx starts from a $0.10 minimum, being able to get as high as $100 from there. Add the Super Stake option, and the bet doubles, with a new range from $0.20 to $200.
You don’t get paid as much as you might expect, given that this slot has medium to high volatility, but the MultiPays engine might just make up for that 1,400x jackpot ($140,000 cash). Watch out for the RTP range, whose only value worth using is 96.24%.
MultiPays is the name of the game engine that’s used by Diamond Staxx, and it’s one of the few innovations I’ve seen lately in this field. The game forms winning combinations on 10 lines, but it will pay three times for the same combo. It first pays after 3 reels stop, then it pays again an improved win for 4 symbol combinations, and then it pays for 5 symbol wins as well.
The game adds up all three prizes, from each line, and pays you. For example, a 5-symbol combo of Diamonds could pay 10x, 30x, and 100x the stake (total prize is 140x the stake for that combo).
If the Super Stake option is active, the Diamond symbols may land stacked, and the odds of hitting big wins increase considerably. It does cost you twice as much to play with this option on.
As unique and interesting as that MultiPays system is, the theme and graphics are the usual Stakelogic options, at least for the games that have a classic side. The Diamond is the star on those reels, along with symbols showing Bells, Double Bar logos, and four gemstones (green, orange, pink, and red).
A simple enough slot overall, Diamond Staxx benefits from the addition of a unique mechanic that has the potential to improve prizes, just the thing you want to see in any free casino game, modern or old. There is a classic side to it, which not everyone will appreciate, but the game is interesting nonetheless.
