Searching for diamonds appears to be a favorite past time, for a lot of slot players, but I don’t remember a game every proposing that we do so in the Sonoran desert, in Arizona. That’s what Stakelogic’s Arizona Diamonds seems to be proposing though, the game having a major connection to the desert and to its wildlife, more so than to its diamonds.
Arizona Diamonds is a 5-reel slot, which has 3 symbols per reel and manages to form up to 40 combinations on just as many paylines. You have access to bonus symbols, free spins, Lock & Re-Spin, along with the usual wilds. To note, is that the game has medium volatility and a 96% RTP, which along with a 2,000x ($80,000) top payout, doesn’t make it sound all that bad actually.
You’re able to select a wager for the entire game area, which means that you can’t reduce the number of lines, you’re stuck with all 40. The selection of the coin value, between $0.01 and $1, will automatically change the amount wagered, taking it from $0.40, up to $40.
The developer’s announcement is that the game will pay at most $80,000 in a single round, which means that it can give you 2,000x the round’s stake back. Considering that they’ve announced this as a slot with Medium volatility (3 out of 5 on their volatility scale), you will discover that the game pays reasonably well.
I’m also satisfied with a 96% RTP, which has been announced in the case of Arizona Diamonds.
Among the game’s cool features, I’d mention the use of Double Symbols first. This is true for the five symbols showing us high value wildlife, so the ones with Buffalo, Eagle, Bear, Mountain Lion or Wolf. These show up in two variants, with one or two animals present. The slot will calculate wins based on the number of animals appearing on a line, not on how many symbols land there. It’s an increasingly common feature, at least compared with a few years ago.
When the Arizona Diamonds logo lands, you will find that this is the wild symbol, and that it is a replacement which works next to any regular symbols. All five reels get these icons.
Bonus Diamonds are also on the list of feature symbols. You need them to appear and cover the first reel, though they land on the other columns as well. When the first reel gets covered, the game will lock in place all bonus symbols visible at the time. The last four reels re-spin then, with the aim to get as many bonus symbols as possible. The feature ends either when you fill the reels, or when you get no more new bonus symbols.
Free spins will trigger if all 15 positions on the reels are occupied by bonus symbols, at the end of the re-spins.
Lock & Spin can trigger during free spins, if the same type of animal symbol covers the entire first reel. The symbols of that type, along with wilds, will lock and re-spins will follow.
It’s mostly a wildlife themed slot, featuring icons with the animals which live in the Arizona desert. The diamond is only used in the bonus symbol. The wild symbol is represented by the game logo. As for regular symbols, they range from Buffalo, to Eagle, Bear, Mountain Lion or Wolf. Low icons get the standard Royals. I’d call it an average looking game, the design is not a major strength for this slot.
Arizona Diamonds has mostly its features to thank, for making it a slot machine worth looking into. Payouts and volatility help as well.
