Best Casinos To Try This Slot
Twin Harlequin is one of Red Rake Gaming’s slots, a classic themed release, but one relying on modern graphics. There are two main characters rather than one, both of them Jokers, and the game makes sure to use enough modern features to confuse you about whether it’s modern or classic.
You have a 5x3 reels slot, there are 25 lines to activate, and as winning combinations there is the possibility of getting paid up to $500,000 (5,000x total stake per spin). When it comes to its mix of features, the symbols of Twin Harlequin will revolve around wild symbols, Cascading Reels with respins, Harlequin’s Roulette and free spins. It sounds fine so far, but once we found out about the 95.30% RTP of Twin Harlequin, we weren’t very happy with the game.
Betting and Prizes
25 active lines are used, and so 25 coins are needed for the wager. You end up selecting the total amount for the next round, where the minimum bet is worth $0.25, while the maximum one is $100. For that range, the value of the coins involved will be from $0.01 to $4.
For its payouts, I like what Twin Harlequin is doing, especially with the fact that up to 5,000 coins can be paid by a single combination, if it’s formed only out of wilds. In theory, if you get wilds on all reels and positions, you form 20 combinations and get paid up to 5,000x total stake, or up to $500,000.
The downside, is that the developer chose a disappointing level of return, so it’s not going to pay back as much to players, as other slot machines available to them. The RTP calculated for the game is at 95.30%.
Twin Harlequin Slot Features
There is really only one feature symbol in this game, and it’s the Wild Logo. The substitute symbol replaces any other symbol when forming a combination. Even better, its own wins will pay up to $20,000, though you do need five wilds lined up on the same payline for that.
Another aspect of the game to consider, is the Cascading Reels. It’s not a new mechanic, and a lot of games make use of it these days, but it’s still lots of fun. It will remove winning symbols from view, bring new ones in, and hopefully new combinations will form. This will make the game continue giving you respins.
If you manage to land 5 respins in a row, the game triggers the Harlequin’s Roulette. This is a mini game, which has two roulette wheels to spin. The first one delivers instant wins, while the other gives you free spins. You can have either one spin, or both, it’s totally random.
If you do trigger the free spins, it’s going to be with up to 15 rounds. There is the possibility to retrigger this feature though.
Theme & Design
The classic nature of the slot is clear, even if we admit that the idea of the Harlequin is in some way different than that of the classic Joker. The W logo is the main one you get, along with symbols showing Triple Lucky 7s, Cherries, Single 7s, Joker’s Mask, Bell, Triple Bar, Double Bar and Single Bar. The two Harlequins are the final two low paying symbols, and they do tend to show up fairly often.
The graphics are well enough designed, it looks like a modern video slot quality wise, but the theme is very much a classic.
Twin Harlequin has enough to offer, that normally it would be a very good choice. However, I wasn’t excited about seeing a below average RTP of 95.30%.
