Wynloch Keep Slot Review
|Betting Range (€/$)||0.20 - 40|
With gorgeous medieval-themed graphics, Wynloch Keep slot makes a promise that it actually keeps once you get it going. It delivers a fun experience, and that has just as much to do with its design, as it does with the long list of features which are available inside. Mobile-optimized, with a vertical setup which will look great on all devices, it’s one of the better titles I’ve seen Radi8 releasing this year.
Wynloch Keep might start off with only 5x3 reels and 15 lines, but as you progress and you trigger re-spins, you get a bigger game area. Up to 5x6 reels and 30 lines can become available eventually. Its best wins can deliver up to 5,625x the stake, using the Jackpot Chests and the Treasure of the Keep bonus. Add the Towers of Power wild reels, or the Wynlock Re-spins, and I’m sure you will have a lot to enjoy inside. At the same time, expect a game which has medium-high volatility, but with a 96% RTP.
Betting and Prizes
Using 20 coins, and giving you 15 lines in exchange, the game is as cheap as $0.20 for a single spin. You can increase the bet up to $40 per spin, which would mean a maximum line bet of $2.
As this is a game with medium-high volatility, we’re looking for bigger than average rewards, but the base game is not accommodating us there. The highest it will go is 5x the stake per line, which means up to 150x the stake could be paid if the game area is fully extended. Luckily, the re-spins will help you get better wins, and there are other features to assist as well.
The bonus game is the one that will do better. Each Treasure Coin you collect, can pay up to 100x the stake there, and then there are the Jackpot Chests that you could unlock at the end, with rewards of up to 2,500x the stake available.
Though volatile, and with regular wins on the low side, the slot has a very high frequency for feature triggering, so you don’t get bored easily. RTP is also OK, at 96%.
Wynloch Keep Slot Features
A wild symbol is going to be available, and you may use it when forming new wins, either for its own combinations or as a substitute for lower paying regular icons. Its own prizes are the best available in the game, paying up to 5x the stake.
Whenever wins are formed in this game, you will find that the symbols involved get locked, and then the re-spins start. They continue for as long as you get new symbols for existing wins, or if you form new combinations entirely. At the same time, the game area expands, adding to the number of active lines. The game area keeps the 5 reels, but goes from 3 to 6 rows, and from 15 to 30 paylines. The wins are all paid once the spin ends, for the final version of the combinations.
Towers of Power is the name of a random feature, which can trigger in a round at any point. It will transform two random reels into full wilds. The re-spins which follow will also use them, since they’re sticky for the entire round.
Treasure of the Keep is the feature which appears to have the best potential. They require 5+ scattered Treasure Coins on the reels to get the ball rolling. In this feature, you have a large game area, with the triggering symbols locked, and with empty positions where you may get additional coins.
3 spins are available initially, but each time that you get at least one additional coin, the number resets. The coins all have prizes mentioned on them, to be paid once the feature ends.
Through that same feature, and the resulting Treasure Coins, you can also unlock Jackpot Chests and win prizes from 25x to 2,500x the stake.
Theme & Design
Medieval themed games are common enough, but Wynloch Keep makes the effort and actually builds a story which is set within that time period. We’re helping the King in his siege of the Keep of Gold, a fortress which is set in a region called Aegirine. Once again, it’s a treasure hunt that we’re embarking on, but it’s better made than most. I enjoyed the graphics, both on and off the reels (where we see the fortress that we’re attacking).
As for the symbols that we’re seeing on those reels, they range from Gold Coins, to Torches, Crowns, Goblets, Rings, Shields, Swords and four stones with colored runes on them.
Wynloch Keep looks like a lot of fun, a new real money slot which does have a certain degree of risk in it, but which adds a lot of different features to keep you company. Ultimately, I’d recommend it, though as always the key to its riches is in the bonus features, not the base game.
